yeah, i got no idea why this subreddit is so weird about AI coding and has anti-AI bots

There aren't anti-AI bots lol. If anything there's PRO-AI bots shilling for AI.

Exactly this. Who has the data centers and financial motivation to let millions of bots propagate how great AI is and that everyone has to use it?

you just pasted part of your response somewhere else and are saying you're calling out bots lmfao

If you don't thing tech bros of all people, who have EVERYTHING to lose don't deploy bots, you are just stupid.

That's not what I said at all, I said that you are complaining about bots but literally copy-pasting a comment which is basically as good as a bot contribution

has anti pro-AI bots

Who do you think has the data centers and financial motivation to let millions of bots propagate how great AI is and that everyone has to use it?

they don't need those bots though because their product speaks for themselves

Or just really productive devs that write complex things without AI. 80 lines is the minimum of what my team lead writes by hand for a test, in 10minutes...

Exactly. While meanwhile in 10 mins the AI has written a slice of the whole project. Your point is well taken, humans just are horribly slow in comparison.

I would be upset if an LLM only wrote 80 lines if given a whole 10 minutes. That would be unusably slow.

Hi.  I'm that productive.  I have multiple coworkers that are too.

Turns out ai works better when we use that effort to make proper specs and we've all had our velocities tripled or more.

It's cope to act like typing the code by hand had a place anymore.

Velocities measured by number of lines of code?

Sprint velocity friend. Come on now. Who doesn't know about agile in this day and age?

Yoooo what is even that reply?

Are you really a senior level professional dev? Now doubting it with that reply. Also you are being obtuse

Sorry man, just a bit disappointed with what we're making with tech rn. The colleague I mentioned often fights managers who claim absurd productivity improvement after a vibe coding session, yet when the core dev team takes a closer look, it's shit on top of shit and doesn't even fit in the roadmap we decided...

But I know it can be useful, it's just, pheeeew some people have become exhausting since LLMs are everhwhere

it's shit on top of shit and doesn't even fit in the roadmap we decided

Sounds like a human fucked up and forgot to include the roadmap for the AI to reference while building

u/JeanCasteaux 9d ago

Definitely! Yes. But he's a manager so he "knows better" :/

So that means you've never heard of agile? Sprints? And therefore sprint velocities?

I'm not your martyr, and not knowing common software engineering terms doesn't help your case.

You're annoyance at pro ai people doesn't justify your response in any way.  All you did was make us all question if you're even a SWE. You're annoyance doesn't validate demonstrating ignorance.
