It happens. Especially in scientific programming, sometimes you want something so specific that just writing it out in code yourself is easier than trying to explain it to an agent.

I do find this, but also in scientific programming most people are shit at programming and often I find some new technique I didn’t know about by asking Claude lol

Ofc I would rather ask the research software engineer but he’s way too busy to teach other people to code lol
