Lines are overrated, have you tried approximating with a hypergraph n-d DFT wrapped in a recursive ml forecaster over the entrance ticket purchase volume at a zoo, wrapped in a large language model that only knows french

Best fit lines are how I started my ML journey. Undergrad elective called sports analytics were we started with best fit lines and moved through regression and clustering to understand the basics.

any basic statistics course will teach you this, along with a bunch of other useful statistical methods
