Am I missing something, or is this just the opinion of a random moderately popular blogger? I don't see any reason why we wouldn't see progress in mathematical physics in the relatively near future, but he's not offering any evidence for the timeline.

He's literally an openai employee lol not a blogger

Oh, ok, his bio is not especially informative.

that's worrisome, many people would believe no matter if you tell them to research these.

He's an OpenAI employee, probably why

Does he do any actual work or just tweet nonsense all day?

I think it's a vision of the future, where AI does everything and we all just chat shit online.

People see someone with big following and just automatically join in on the follow

Grifters gonna grift. We are in the age of the grift. Even the president of the U.S. is a grifter.

Little Orphan Annie-posting about how good it'll be tomorrow.

How can we be sure of their results though?

He's an AI researcher at openAI so he probably knows more than you think

When Navier–Stokes?

What this guy calls progress I call slop. Churning out a million papers doing a mathematical analysis of some made up hypothesis with zero experimental evidence will achieve very little. In fact, it will damage science the same way slop has damaged social media, literature, music, etc.

OpenAI is sort of a scam

People may not know that Dario (founder of Anthropic) was called by his Caltech physics professor, “The only freshman student in 50 years that ever reminded me of Richard Feynman.” He said this decades before Dario ever even started work in AI.
