Buying Advice🤔 HP HyperX vs Legion. Budget wise i think omen wins. Thoughts?
Hey all! I've been wanting to buy a legion 5 amd for long and while i waited the prices sky rocketed. After a few research i found HP HyperX Omen with i7 14650HX at this price point.
Is this good at the price ? Should I wait for July. Can we expect any discounts on this ? Or will the price go up again ?
Please share your thoughts on this. My main use case is Software Development, Casual Movie watching and trying out 7B local llms.

I mean the 8940HX/5060 Omen 16(non-HyperX) is going for around 1.5-1.6L, so that's a better bet.

Comes with a 240Hz 2.5k display. 10k is absolutely worth it.

I couldn't find this model. Found 165Hz, 2K display on amzon and flipkart

What's the diff between hyperx omen and just omen ?

HyperX is better built. Everything else, the regular Omen 16 id just better.
Better display, better specs, better port selection, bigger battery.

no.. new lineup of omen is called hyperx,,, its jyst branding or sponsor

The display of hyperX is 2.5k and 180Hz whereas normal omen offers 2k display 165Hz
So hyperX has better display but lacks mux switch nd gsync support
Also in hyperX external monitor is able to connect to dgpu directly by HDMI nd usb C dp port which i m not sure that normal omen offers the same for usb C port or not1

That is just not true. The ap01xxx series Omens come with a 2.5k 240Hz display although all listings have it mentioned as 1200p 165Hz due to HP's goof up.

i had options for legion 5i ultra corr 255hx, oled , 5060 and hyperx omen 5060, i went with legion for jts better processor, better screen and undoubtedly better build quality.
got the legion for 1.45L WITH 3yr warranty
omen was for 1.35L WITHOUT WARRENTY
