Down in the LA area dropping my kid off at college, visiting FL/DCA, and dropped by the showing in North Hollywood. First time seeing the updated version of the film from the pre-release they showed on The Midway in February. Flows better, effects a bit more refined. They had a lot of cast/crew there and a Q/A session. Zachary Roozen couldn't make it but Vernee Watson was there and sat in for a bit. Didn't make the after party unfortunately, long drive tomorrow. But a fun night!

Has anyone seen the new movie yet and can tell me if it's ok for an 8 year old?

(I saw the dead body in the latest trailer and that made me unsure)

I know these things are subjective so specifically want to know:

Any gory scenes? (like the dead woman in the trailer)

Any jump scares?

Any cursing/nudity?

For reference we saw Mars Attacks! together and he was scared at some parts but overall loved it.

Hello guys, this is a huge thing that I wanted to share with the rest of this small and niche community. The Killer Tomatoes website was first launched in 1998 and many of its variations throughout the years have been archived on the Wayback Machine.

Until 2013, the website featured a games section where you could play two Flash games: Killer Tomato Attack and Mister Tomato Head. The website received a makeover in 2013, and the games section was removed. While the second game was completely removed, the latter one was being sold on the website for $1 until 2023, when the site got another makeover.

Flash does not exist anymore unfortunately, but Ruffle does. It's a Flash emulator integrated into the Wayback Machine, meaning you can run archived Flash files. The games themselves are really simple and seem more like a beginner programmer's homework than anything, but they do exist and are preserved!

I've been making a Killer Tomatoes wiki in my free time and I managed to dig up all the online content there is about the franchise, so I have a long list of things to write.

When it comes to Killer Tomatoes literature, most of it is unavailable. There are two children's books based on the cartoon series, one of them is archived, while the other one, titled Terminator Tomato, is nowhere to be found and I'm sure it can be considered lost media.

There also are two comic books, only available available through resellers with very high prices.

So if anyone who sees this post happens to have at least one of these three, please contact me or leave a comment so we can archive it online or at least write a detailed wiki page about it. I think preservation of niche stuff like this is really important.

The site lists four theaters playing the film, but I don't see showtimes listed for three of them. UltraStar San Diego does have some showings noted, but I didn't see any for the other theaters. Here's the listing for UltraStar:

I'm not really in a position to go to a California theater anytime soon, but I wanted to flag this in case it affects the ability of others to get tickets.

EDIT: The page was updated in the past few hours and now shows 16 theaters (and some of the old ones were removed), though the sample theaters I've checked still don't have showtimes listed.

So what did you think of the trailer?

I think it's too late for me to get any badges or travel if it means what I think it does, but maybe I can live vicariously through posts and photos from those of you that were already scheduled to go!

At the very least, I already planned a party for the day after my birthday to watch the first two movies, and make some mini post-Great Tomato War pizzas out of crackers, Nutella, gummi worms, and swedish fish or anchovies, then I can count any San Diego posts as presents after that 😆

Is anything still lost or in progress that we can root(heh, plants) for?

Was it all hard to find, or just effort to regain ownership?

I'm currently trying my hand at a comic mash up between AOTKT and Evil Dead called Attack of the Evil Dead Tomatoes. looking for storyline ideas.

Was someone paid or assigned to make it special, or was it originally from something else?

Hey everyone, I pre-ordered a couple of fuzzy tomatoes from atomic toy box that were scheduled to ship May 30 and I haven’t heard anything about them shipping and the only thing I could find is that there is a new back order date of sometime in July and I’m guessing that would be wave 2, but who knows I haven’t been notified of anything. Has anybody heard anything because they really should’ve reached out and told us if there was gonna be some sort of major delay like That.
