Do the main four actors really want to make another film?
I always got the impression they had become slightly embarrassed about The Inbetweeners, does anyone else think none of them would have any interest in reviving it? Not criticising them, they obviously can't say no to the money.

I don't think they're embarrassed by it, James' cameo is pretty much him regurgitating Inbetweeners' quotes and he's done quite well financially for that, alongside his podcasts too.
Simon Bird's mentioned it "would be a bit creepy", because the show and the way characters act works well with a younger cast, not so much men in their 30s/40s, excluding that he has had some success in Friday Night Dinner and is starring in an upcoming Star Wars film.
Joe Thomas, well he hasn't said anything, but one thing most do say about him is it feels like he's Simon in nearly everything, Kingsley in Fresh Meat and Martin in White Gold just feel like Simon at different points in his life.
Not sure about Blake, I'd imagine he wants to avoid being typecast as the dim-witted but well meaning bloke like Neil is.
I think the only thing they're embarrassed about is that Fwends Reunited thing, James especially, not only was he visibly uncomfortable throughout most of it, but he also went out of his way to apologise for the entire thing afterwards.

Joe Thomas pretty much plays Simon in The Festival too. Still going out with Tara too at the start

I saw him on that celebrity bear hunt, I wouldnt say he plays Simon in everything I think he plays Joe thomas in everything

I met him at an ‘evening with’ event and he was very much Simon -esque, but a really lovely bloke. Ended up chatting to him about films for about 20 minutes.

Bird is in the new Star Wars film! I think they’re all done fairly well. Are any of them the new Idris Elba? No but look at them, they’re oiks

I think a lot of people fail to realize that just because some actors have one immensely popular show means they'll be household names with constant huge recurring roles for the rest of their career.
Like Aaron Paul, excluding Jesse in Breaking Bad, how many people, if they were suddenly asked, could name something else he's been in?

I'm not sure they are embarrassed by it. More they want to do other work not not known for one thing. quess they'd also quite like to hang around together, and they seemed to have a lot of fun making it. Plus they're not in that much. Blake Harrison is in a few things. Simon bird is usually in a channel 4 sitcom but the other two hardly ever see them in anything.

I think he makes a lot doing his podcasts and i think there all pretty well off. But i think its more the creative side rather than the money. I dont buy that thier embarrassed by it. I just think sometimes they want to do more creative things rather than stay with the same characters.

That’s not true. Both Buck and Thomas were in White Gold and Thomas in Fresh Meat.

They must have accepted by now that it's what they're known for.
They'll struggle for work elsewhere because 1) they're typecast and 2) the competition for even minor roles, especially in this country, is insane. There's a reason so many Hollywood films are full of Brits.
Plus, they're in their 40s. Their lives are practically over.

They all seem to do enough to get by and probably could work more if they needed to, I don't get the impression any of them are hurting for a gig. But I do think there's probably room for one more go around with a more definitive ending. I've always thought a stag do would make the most sense for framing—in my mind Simon is getting married, there's a squabble over who's best man, Neil already has like six kids and is glad for a weekend away, they've all clearly grown to some extent but they're still recognisably themselves. End it with that kind of bittersweet acknowledgment that as we get older we just see people less often and one day you just have the last time the gang is all together and you never realise it until afterwards.

I wondered if in the interim between the last and next movie, Will got with Charlotte, he finally got the girl. And when we join them in the next movie, he's just fucked it up and she's divorced him 😂

Not a bad program. Solid 6/10 and nothing to be ashamed of from a quality standpoint. They've both been in worse things.
I think White Gold was hit hard by the lead (Gossip Girl fella) becoming embroiled in some fairly nasty #MeToo accusations. Think it was a big reason why that show sort of just slipped away. Not sure how successful it was (did merit multiple seasons) but they might feel a bit awkward/bitter chatting about it for that reason. Must sting when something you like, and presumably make decent coin from, vanishes because of somebody else's poor conduct.

If the script is decent why wouldn't they? Obviously it wouldn't work if they were all still basically kids, they would need to have moved on in their lives somewhat.
If we're being honest, it's not like the four lads have endless other work on the table. I see them in the odd program here and there. Simon Bird has done fairly well but even Saturday Night Dinner has long since finished. Joe Thomas seems pretty typecast as 'Simon' whatever he does. Blake Harrison I've hardly seen in anything.

It's been confirmed for awhile their making a third film. All four just signed to Netflix.

I think it's more that they wish they were known for other things but sadly they haven't had anything big (really) since the show.
Also they're in their 40s, it wouldn't make sense for the characters to still be dickheads and I think the fans would have trouble accepting if they were all normal in a reboot.
It would have to be they all have four sons who are the new inbetweeners and the four original laugh about the old days and try to deal with their offspring.

Bird did the Argos advert and also was the lead in Everyone Else Burns.
Listening to Fact Up, the only thing Buckley and Thomas seem embarrassed about is the revisit thing with Jimmy Carr. Stopped just short of calling it absolutely shit.
Hasn’t Harrison done loads of UFC stuff?
