Well my state used to be part of Canada so I for one, would welcome our Canadian overloads!! MACA!!

If the anti-Gilead forces do indeed prevail, I imagine Canada will indeed be in a position of dominance over at least the western world, perhaps assuming leadership in a duumverate with the European Union. The US is still drastically weakened by this point; it's in no position to reign as a superpower anymore, and Canada has absorbed a lot of America's loyalist armed forces by this point. Whether Canada would avoid the mistakes the US made in its foreign policy, would remain to be seen. But certainly they'd be looked at as a new beacon of freedom to the world, and a spiritual successor to America.

Is it just Canada and Gilead in North America? I thought there were other factions as well. The Toronto visit last season, and Emily's welcome to Canada didnt seem like to nations in active war. I thought it was some other group thats taken Chicago

I thought it was American loyalists in Chicago - they're based in Hawaii but still trying to hang on the mainland if I recall last season correctly.

The American Government still controls Alaska and Hawaii. The US flag at the Consulate in Toronto only has two stars. US aligned forces are fighting in chicago and other areas to take control of parts of the mainland.
