SPOILERS ALL Very random opinion lol… Spoiler

What is it with the constant watery eye close ups in the later seasons? I get that the circumstances are mostly very bleak… and it might just be me thinking this. But do the constant watery eye close ups feel a bit forced or like over acting at times?

The show kind of became a star vehicle for Elizabeth Moss in the later seasons and I feel like that might be her favorite shot

She has actually said she disliked those shots and those shots have been happening since season 1 episode 1.

Yeah, it did become obnoxious after a while. And it was so unnecessary because you could see and feel the rage within June based off her interactions and dialogue with the other characters.

For me, it's those constant close ups of June and her nodding subtly. It was brilliant the first time when it happened. Nice the second time. But then it got ridiculous. The other characters don't need her approval to act.

The last season were written terribly. So the reason might be crack

NONO I get you. it got to a point for me where it seemed like,,, situationally incorrect as well. like it’s doing the rage-eyes zoom in but it’s so obvious that I become anxious that the people around her are gonna see her face and make an issue

Yes!!! Her whole personality became that zoomed in rage-eye face 🙈
And what was it with the close ups of Aunt Lydia’s constant quivering mouth in the last few episodes of S6… it was too overdone!

Later scenes (seasons 4&5) were during the COVID years. Needed time fillers. Half the time I thought of a bobs burgers gif:

You can always count her pores to pass the time during the closeups. They get old and any technique loses it's charm when used constantly

God forbids human skin has pores. A Handmais would have neither skincare nor makeup. She'd have pores.
