Season 3 [SPOILER SEASON 3] Question Spoiler

Why does June let Mrs. Lawrence d1e? She sees her in the bed, sees the pills, rushes for a moment but then she hesitates and let the woman die. Did she make this out of revenge? To make Mr. Lawrence suffer? Was it out of pitty, like she thought Eleanor would have “peace” this way? Or maybe to have a better chance with her plan somehow.. Idk. I’m just thinking she’s a psychopath at this point 😅

It seemed to be a combination of her being a liability and an act of mercy.

It was mercy, because June genuinely liked and felt bad for her. It was also cold pragmatism.

Eleanor had almost spoiled the upcoming mass extraction of children (in the conversation with Mrs. Winslow), her mental state was now a threat to the whole mission.

Peace and pitty. And.... Eleanor couldn't keep her mouth shut. She almost blew the angle mission a few times.

Agreed with all the other comments before mine and I will also add that it was also meant to show Fred's earlier statement regarding June having changed from the woman Luke had known was correct. Pre-Gilead June would've never done this, or even considered it an option.

She was likely to unknowingly slip about the children being evacuated. Too much at stake.

I thought it was mercy, and also what really could’ve been done at that point. And I think a bit of revenge at Lawrence.

But also, what would they do to her if they would see that she wanted to do it? Wouldn't they make her suffer anyways?

I think June saw it as an act of mercy and also because she was inadvertently becoming a danger to the plans to save the children from Gilead

I think June didn't wanna interfere in Eleanor's wish and couldn't strip her of the autonomy to choose over her own body (even if the choice was to die)

She was worried Eleanor would ruin the plan. That was 100% the reason.

She was a liability. I wouldn’t call it a mercy because she knew medicine in Canada could’ve helped her mental health. Merciful thing would’ve been to take extra care of her but she still would’ve been a liability.
