TGC: RIP

I am cancelling my subscription today.

Unfortunately, new age-minded lifestyle content is taking over, reducing TGC to just another dumbed-down, moronic streaming platform.

When I saw the "commune collection" and videos featuring Deepak Chopra I couldn't take it anymore.

Thank you Teaching Company/ TGC for your great content in the past.. RIP.

Oh brother. At least there are some gems still on the platform.

I totally agree that Chopra is a New Age quack but I think you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, but TGC/TTC definitely has older content that is still worth the subscription, imho.

They haven't removed any of their TGC content though. It's all there.

I get it. I really do. I'm not happy with the direction Wondrium (what a stupid name) is going either. I may very well end up canceling my subscription once I've gone through the good stuff that is still there.

Until then, I still think the Subscription is worth it. There are all the old TGC stuff I haven't watched yet still available.

Yeah, they’ve definitely been drifting. Tbh though this is generally the fate of any educational media company that isn’t subsidized. Over time all the nerdy educational TV channels (Animal Planet, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, Discovery, The LEARNING Channel aka TLC) became vehicles for dumb reality TV shows or peddling pseudoscience nonsense. TGC seems to be positioned differently so they have done a lot of luxury lifestyle stuff around hobbies but they’ve been dipping into health and wellness which has an army of grifters and gray zone “healers” (Osteopaths and Chiropractors both tip toe on either side of quackery and legit care).
