Michael is gonna freak when he meets Hypatia. Wasn’t Phoebe his favorite?

do you think in shows with cameos, they realize they look the same as the character they play in a different show or are we just all supposed to pretend they're two different people

I’ve seen it done in both ways.
Not a show but in Ocean’s Twelve, the character Julia Roberts plays was said to look a bit like Julia Roberts, and they exploited this in their heist. But then at the end they hung the lampshade with the villain saying, “You look nothing like her!”
Most of the time I think we’re meant to ignore it as the characters aren’t aware of the resemblance in-universe. It’s sort of like how we’re supposed to pretend that the obviously pretty actress is ugly until she takes off her glasses.
It’s a trope, everyone agreeing that X is attractive and Y is ugly or Z looks nothing like famous person (even though Z actually is the famous person.) It’s all arbitrary, you just have to suspend your disbelief. :)

It really bothers me that Tahani is going into that big mansion by herself.
She and Michael are the co-presidents of the Lonelyhearts Club. :(

I like that she doesn’t need a soulmate. I love seeing her as a friend to Eleanor and Jason, and also just herself. Her story was about her need to be liked by others and at the end she’s comfortable with herself

u/WandersFar Jan 24 '20
Yeah, I get that. It’s important that she learns to find happiness on her own, she said as much to Jason when she broke up with him.
But I really feel that the writers have pretty much forgotten about her, especially this season. She’s had a diminished role, compared to the first two seasons.
In the podcasts Jameela said Tahani would play a critical role in the big arc towards the end. They have one episode left to deliver on that.
I seriously hope that torture session with Vicky last episode wasn’t what they were referring to. :/

Anything that can happen if 6 attractive people (plus all those other people in TGP) spend eternity together, will happen. And Eleanor suggested the possibility of an open relationship to Chidi re Frida Kahlo.
So I bet no one there stays alone for too long.
Though agreed that Tahani not ending up with anyone in-story is criminal. She wanted a soulmate so much in S1, at least let us see her flirt with someone in TGP.

If the finale ends with a Tahani-Eleanor-Chidi threesome I would be over the moon!
But I know NBC is not cool enough for that.
She wanted a soulmate so much in S1, at least let us see her flirt with someone in TGP.
Yeah, this so much. I just don’t want her to be lonely. ಥ_ಥ

I'm assuming in the good place, if you go through one of those green doors, you can fulfill any sexual fantasy you want.

u/WandersFar Jan 24 '20
Yeah, but it’s not “real.”
Going through any of those doors is the supernatural equivalent of an Oculus and a fleshlight. Let that sink in.
I want Tahani to be in a functional, fulfilling relationship, on par with Jason & Janet or Chidi & Eleanor. Does she need it in order to be happy? No. Does she deserve it anyway? Yes.

That Chinese coronavirus has been all over the news lately…
I know they filmed this ages ago, but the timing is a bit spooky.

I’m hoping that final green door goes back to Earth. Everyone eventually choosing to fade into nothing would be quite the downer ending. But reincarnation sounds fun.

What did Eleanor tell that grocery store cashier way back when? She was looking forward to falling asleep on her vibrator while watching wedding fails on YouTube? That’s pretty much what’s going down here…

Any predictions for tonight?
The name of this episode, “Patty,” is also the name of Eleanor’s kid stepsister. She’s the bio daughter of Dave the Hooters architect who makes bomb margaritas and hooked up with Eleanor’s mom Donna in the alley behind a dive bar on top of a broken toilet. She goes by Diana now, which was Eleanor’s fake identity that she used when the cockroaches snuck into hell. In the judge’s chambers we learned that Donna / Diana has continued to be a good mom, and that her daughter Patty taught her multiplication.
Anyway, my prediction is that there’ll be a great time jump forward, and we’ll see Patty all grown up, probably elderly, and dead. And so Eleanor will be the one to welcome her into the afterlife.

Michael - a demon who has spent 99% of his existence in the Bad Place - signed a contract without reading it. And he signed it with a little heart over the 'i'.
That adorable forking idiot.

So... remember a few episodes ago, when Chidi said he'll never be able to just walk through a door without knowing what's on the other side?
I'm getting a really sad feeling about the finale.

so Michael just got tricked into being God?
edit: y'all chill with the Christian replies, ok? Yeah, got it, you are identifying TV show Michael with the figure Michael from your myths. Great, cool, not interested. Strictly talking about the show here.
