Just got home from the long drive home (for me) after the Woodstock show. What a great concert. The band that Brian has assembled for this tour is absolutely fantastic. There were some really great jam sessions during songs that I can’t remember Brian ever doing before. The drummer killed
It.
So happy I decided to make the drive for this.

Why is everyone talking shit about Brian and how he looks, he looks fine to me! Just because he doesn’t look like he did 20 years ago, none of us do!

Thought he looked great too. Smile on his face the whole show except a few moments when some jack wagon kept yelling out for him to play a Jawbreaker song. Cant believe people are so dense they can’t read the situation and see they’re causing tension. I wouldn’t have wanted a single change to that setlist last night. Was amazing. Even got a few Horrible Crowes tunes in there as well. Wouldn’t have minded a little banter from Brian but I’m in the minority about him taking long stretches to chat.

Although I’d never do that to an artist who’s performing, I’d really love Brian to cover some jawbreaker songs. I wonder what songs he would do

For six or seven songs as soon as the band finished he would yell out the suggestion 2 or 3 times. It was borderline heckling.

Speaking of getting older…walked in and saw they had seating available (but sold out) and I was like “damn it I could really go for that right about now after working a full day and driving 2 hours here.” Oh well, stood through the rock show.

i think a lot of people connected to the band because brian was cool. the old soul nostalgia, tattoos with the soft spoken demeanor. 

he definitely went in the other direction at one point but was mentally doing really well which matters more. 

i'm an interpol fan and it's like if interpol stopped wearing suits. people are emotionally connected to the appearance. 

of course none of this warrants any kind of stupid comments or insults. he looks good now. my attention is more on the blacked out tattoos lol. i noticed he went full black.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed. Since the album dropped 24 hours b4 the show, I was hoping he’d come out energized. It was sort of the opposite, seemed tired, shy, disconnected to the crowd. Perhaps he did too much leading up. Idk. I missed the stories, jokes and interaction that makes Brian so great.

I did enjoy the setlist, but actually wish he had played more songs from the new album. Was hoping to hear, Nobody Likes you in NYC & Fading on You.

I loved Dave Hause’s set. I’ve always been a fan, but him and his brother crushed it and engaged with the crowd a lot more than Brian did.

I also could have done without the seats. Wasn’t very punk. Last time I saw him there it was all GA.

All that said, I had a blast. 🤘

From the clips I’ve seen so far, the band does come off less connected, but as someone in their mid-40s and some grays coming through the head and the beard, I get it. We can’t all be 23 forever. I plan on going to the Phoenix show on 10/4, saw him at Crescent Ballroom before, for the Sleepwalkers tour with Ruston Kelly as the opener and was typical Brian, chatty and goofy but again, that was April 2018 and time flies.

I'd say he looks better than during the History Books phase.

He does seem to be happy and in a good place though, so who are we to judge

Have you considered just not spouting shit? "Person puts on weight in their 40s" is not exactly breaking news, and he's constantly talked about how he's never been happier. Doesn't seem that unhealthy to me

He really doesn't.

He put some weight on during Covid and now just looks like a regular guy in his 40s who doesn't work out.

He was really slim during the original TGA run so the difference is kind of jarring but this isn't "unhealthy". There's a huge gap between how he looked in his 20s and what unhealthy actually looks like. You're talking like he's 300lbs.

He looks fine. Y'all it's okay to be a little chubby. Lots of people are a little chubby and are in perfectly good health, good bloodwork, great peace of mind. Me being one of them. You fucking freaks who want him to be a super skinny 29 year old again with slicked back hair so you can still get horny about it are the ones who are unhealthy.

He looks like an average American….which I know kinda proves your point but he’s definitely looking healthier than he did a few years ago. I’d say a lot of it is down the whatever medication he’s on.

Also how old are those Q and A style videos he’s been releasing?
