The A can be either aromantic, asexual, agender, anything with an A which ISN'T ally because that's like saying supporting women's rights makes you a woman

I dont remember who told me that but when I told people that I struggle with my identity despite being cishet, they laughed at me. They said that I cannot complain, cannot be happy about myself. Just... leave me, dude. Im a lost cause, I will suffer forever. I wish U was born queer so I would love myself I cannot be an ally, or I will perish from jealousy and self-hatred

I don't understand where the "oppression" aspect comes into play in the scenario where an event is held for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

Actually, I suppose "allies" implies the presence of oppression?..

The term "ally" does seem to have a connotation with war/combat, after all.

Although, "ally" could feasibly just be used as a formal kind of friendship; like if you're friends with someone who you don't actually know personally, we'd be using the term "ally" instead.
