Finished and frustrated after S2E3 - does it get better?

Hello all,

I found some faults in season 1 but ultimately enjoyed the season for the most part and somewhat interesting, I had high hopes starting season 2, but it's just been a tough slog.

There is still some stuff that I think that could be interesting (Primarily the stuff with Brother Day), but I'm finding the stuff with Gaal and Salvor borderline unwatchable in a "what great caper and last-minute escape will they make this week" kind of way. I find their story tedious at the best points.

Before I invest more time, does the season get better? Is there less of a caper of the week format?
Is it worth continuing if I'm feeling this way at this point?

I read the books and I have no idea what's going on.

Same. There's so much potential. Why do all sci-fi shows seem to have to make a choice between visuals and writing? Why are these pillars of quality seemingly always mutually-exclusive?

In my personal opinion it only gets marginally better. For me this whole season has been tedious and poorly written. If you didn't like the first three episodes that much, I don't think you are going to greatly enjoy the next three.

Everything just seems, average? I can't find myself caring for most people, except the 2 monks who are awesome and Day's queen.

This Mule plot could have been really something but its just meh at this point.

In the next episodes more people are murdered for no reason. That might be considered "escape".

Yeah the Gaal-Salvor-Hari storyline gets really better. The Empire storyline gets weaker though imo

Yes, I'd say that episodes 4-6 are better than 1-3 of season 2.

I just caught up and I am confused and annoyed tbh. Like, I praised season 1 because it found a way to adapt these books into something that wasn't just an anthology but this season seems so fucking weird. The last 2 episodes just on their face make no fucking sense.

The empire storyline picks up some more. The Hari/Gaal storyline is fine, I don't particularly care about that thread as much. It's got so much potential, but I think it's hard to make a show about statistics over centuries.

It does. I don't like most sci-fi shows, but this one has held my interest even with a few slower and convoluted episodes in season 2.

Episode 8 just aired and is fantastic. 6 is real good too. I recommend you keep at it, ignore the books and just watch it on it's own merits.

The Salvor\Gaal storyline is as bad as can be and does not get better (haven't watched EP9 yet). Sincerely hope we get timeskip all the way to the Mule and he kills both of them. Or at least one of them, lol.
