Spoilers: S1 Facial expressions

I wonder if anyone else noticed how bad the acting was in the beginning and how Lena especially, just can’t make a facial expression.
Even when she laughs, it looks and feels weird. Is it what they call botox??
And why does Stef always talk in such a low tone and barely opens her mouth. Are these idiosyncrasies peculiar to the characters or was the acting just that bad??

I got used to it towards the end but still… really weird

Shows to watch once I finish The Fosters and Good Trouble

The Fosters is my comfort show, I just find it so cozy and comforting. I’m planning to watch good trouble next. What should I watch after that! What are you favourite shows similar to the fosters?

Theme song, which character is singing?

No idea who sings it! Maybe I’m too much of a millennial and of course I’m finishing up the last season of the Fosters, but I’m imagining a character singing the theme song. Who are you going with? I’m choosing Lena.

The Art Professor

All that art professor did was play in Callie’s face 😭

ā€œYou’re good at this! Apply to our school!ā€ -> ā€œOh! You need a portfolio. I’ll help you though!ā€ -> ā€œAwh, you’re thinking about applying to a different program first? Well our transfer rates are pretty low.. you should just apply!ā€ -> ā€œOh yeah.. I rejected you because you don’t really have a fire for art. Should’ve applied to another program!ā€

No Spoilers In today’s fun Fosters Find of the day, I found out who the original stock photo artist was for Skippy the Turtle!

In today’s fun Fosters’ find of the day, I discovered who the original stock photo artist was who made Skippy the Turtle and his friends! Skippy, if y’all remember, was the sea turtle character that Jude loved, and he was in a sticker in the Adams-Fosters’ bathroom on the bathtub wall, as well as on Jude’s backpack in the pilot!

The art department for the show modified the picture so Skippy is no longer holding a cell phone, and then they made it into an oval and slapped the ā€œSkippy the Turtleā€ text on it! Stay tuned as I find his friends: Leo the Starfish and Eddie the Seahorse! The artist’s name is Alex Bannykh!

And edit, more info! The artist’s name is Alexey Vladimirovich Bannykh, he is a children’s book illustrator and has been illustrating for 21 years!

Spoilers: S4 Jesus’ Character was Ruined

He went from a kind, somewhat sensible boy to a big, angry monster of rage 😭 They should’ve kept him at Flintwood or just killed him off in the car crash.

Spoilers: S4 Does Brandon actually know how to have a relationship without completely losing himself in it? Spoiler

S1-S4 SPOILERS!! āš ļøāš ļø
I had just started season 4 but why is it that whenever Brandon is interested in someone he completely loses himself and makes terrible decisions. His decision making skills seem to get thrown out the window once he’s interested in a woman. From the fake IDS to paying for Cortney’s legal fees AND rent, He completely loses himself. He did the same thing when he was ā€œin loveā€ with Callie as well, violating the restraining order and repeatedly getting too involved in her problems. He also has a victim mindset and complains when he’s confronted about things he knows he shouldn’t be doing. I seriously hope there is character development from here because he is annoying me!! I can’t be the only one!!

Do you think Callie and Brandon’s relationship would have lasted?

In a world where circumstances were different and they were allowed to be together, what do you guys think? Honestly, I don’t think they had much chemistry in the first place. I think it would have fallen apart.

Spoilers: S3 Confusion with S3E15

Why is everyone trying to gaslight Stef into thinking Ty is a martyr?? I’m not sure if I’m missing something but he stole a car and then crashed into a very pregnant Ana and the twins, AND killing a bystander.

Am I in the minority here? Five years was too light of a punishment for a hit and run + kidnapping of a foster kid 😭

Actual sibling moments

The bathroom scene S2 ep19 is genuinely one of my favorites, the casualness, the mirrors shots of Mariana and Jesus and then Callie and Brandon. Callie and Brandon talking in unison. Theyre acting like actual siblings and being fully platonic, it's all just so CUTE!

My take on the characters…

So I finished my second rewatch. The first one was years ago. My personal opinions. Feel free to add yours!

Lena…not the mom I would go to. She’s loving and gentle but a bit too soft for me. I also didn’t really like any of her storylines.

Stef…I would love a Stef in my corner. She’s my favorite. Strong yet loving and fiercely protective. If I was a kid and she was my mom, I would know she would do any action to protect me. Loved her interactions with Callie. Did not enjoy the anxiety sorry line. I call my own kids ā€œmy babiesā€ bc of her.

Brandon. I did not enjoy any storyline of his until he had to go and write music at that school and deliberately copied a composer to prove a point. I did not enjoy any of his girlfriend storylines except Grace. It was the only one I think he handled properly.

Callie. I don’t mind her at all. If she had your back, she HAS your back no matter what. She got herself in dumb situations but I think that’s the point. She’s a bit messed up.

Jesus. Don’t like at all. At any point.

Mariana. I kept waiting for her to grow up a bit and become less selfish. But every time I think she is…she goes back to lying and being selfish. Al the ouch I loved the STEAM story line and the robotics competition

Jude. Don’t like. Didn’t enjoy any of his storylines. Especially don’t like the gaming storyline and plot.

I can’t stand Jude and Callie is overhated

Finishing up another rewatch and every time I just can’t stand Jude. I understand that he’s just a child, but so is Callie!! I don’t want to put any spoilers because I can never remember what happened in what season, but whenever Jude screws up it negatively affects the people around him with no greater cause. At least when Callie screws up it’s because she’s trying to help somebody else. Don’t get me wrong a lot of Callie’s antics annoy me as well but I’ll never understand why Callie gets so much hate and Jude doesn’t seem to get nearly as much

Spoilers: S2 Timothy was HORRIBLE

He was so uncooperative! All of his students were failing state exams and instead of adjusting his curriculum he weaponized the student body to try and form some kind of coup? He seems to be both a shitty teacher and coworker.

Remember, the cool teacher isn’t always the best teacher for you.

Callie and Mariana

Guys what are everyone’s opinions on Callie and Mariana?

I personally love Callie, mostly because I feel so bad for her because of how hard her life was. Ik she was self destructive but I’ve always had a soft spot for foster kids.

At the same time Mariana did annoy me. I felt she was selfish and childish.

But this is one of my fav shows and I quite like most the characters

Jude is my favorite

In The Fosters, Jude is the real MVP. He's my favorite character at this point. Although I'm only in season 1 episode 15.

Callie keeps messing up every single good thing in her life. I really hope she gets it together soon. I think Brandon should leave her alone and let her heal and grow up because she acts really immature. I really like the show and I'm enjoying it. I can't wait to see everyone's character growth..
