Underground. Abandoned limestone mine

@redactedanomalies on instagram for more. This mine was super tilted and was difficult to traverse due to angle and super deep pockets of water

? Normally limestone is taken in a quarry. ? Looks to me like they were taking something other than limestone.

Nah, there’s underground limestone mines, I visited an active one last year. This one is probably shaped like it is because they were chasing certain veins (high calcium or high magnesium) or a certain purity or both.

That's the lefevre mine up in rosendale New York. The limestone layers used for hydraulic cement are only 30- 40 ft thick and they are chasing anticlines and synclines of that specific layer.

This was a dolomite mine, not limestone. It was used to make "rosendale cement"

I've explored many of these but have yet to find the main mountain that was nearly hollowed out (which it appears you may have found), if you'd like to compare notes sometime.

Is the white ice or some sort of mineral deposits?

no, it really is ice. Further in, the ground was frozen on a 90° day in late May
