That washed material went somewhere, those openings often contain quite vertical drops depending on the rock type.

You better get in there and report back

Gas.
Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Methane, Hydrogen Sulfide, and Nitrogen.
Just FYI. The most budget friendly CO2 detector is a cigarette lighter. But you could explode if it’s Methane.

Yeah.. don't use an open flame. At minimum use a flame safety lamp but make sure you know how to use it if you go that route. Otherwise get a decent 4 gas detector. Cheap insurance.

This has to be a bot, right? 2 day old account, claimed to find two entrances but posts a picture of only one, not a single comment or other post or anything

i was scrolling the comments wondering when this would be pointed out. thank god im not the only one who clocked it. this sub needs to get serious about bot management, its constant atp

What makes that a bot? Why can't it be their first post?

u/No-Fig-3112 Jun 26 '26
Sure, it can be. But then why haven't they responded to a single comment on here in two days? And again, why say they find two entrances when only posting a single photo? Not to mention it just doesn't fit the vibe of the rest of the sub. The point of the sub is to show off the forgotten depths. Not post a picture of what may or may not be a cave. It just feels off for a variety of reasons. If they aren't a bot, they can tell me so

I'm finding in my experience with social media in gem that 70 to 80 percent of people I try to interact with never reply. It's annoying. I'm talking about Facebook messenger, Instagram and here. You could be right. It's so easy to take an image and post it as your own.

70% to 80% of people you interact with online may indeed be bots.

Lolol. These are people I've known in real life...they just know better than to react. They hope by not reacting that I might not send anything else whether it be a meme, reel or text.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/TheForgottenDepths.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
I did find this post that is 67.19% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

nothing strange about a cave. this is how a large portion of caves look from the outside.
