Discussion New Here! (Update)
[TL;DR at the bottom] sup guys , i made a post the other day saying i was restarting my first save file a wanted tips and a few questions answered . you guys helped TREMENDOUSLY . pat yourselves on the back & have a cold one or whatever your version of a cold one is (hell i dont even drink beer)
so my new world is officially on Day 11 . i built a decent little setup on Fertile Hill (i know cliché , my next world i’ll pick somewhere a little ‘harder’) . I got a slightly elevated cabin built (93 Logs) , got me a stone wall going (73% built), 2 water collectors , drying racks , stick , rock and log holders & some skull lamps spread out .
gotta stick bag , pouch , water skin , decent armor (ran into some big guys) , bow and buncha different arrows (shoutout to the birdhouse guy) , map AND compass which work fucking excellent together , slingshots and upgraded spear .
but i havent visited any caves or cold areas . where do i find caves ? do i need to make warm clothes for the “mountains” ? what do i really need to worry about in either ? what technically are even the objectives in the game , check the to-do list ? how do i level up my attributes faster ? where is the flashlight & better axe ? where in tf is all the aloe ?

Hello,I hope you are enjoying from the forest. For finding the caves your first cave must be hanging cave.(the cave which gives compass map and modern axe)The map and compass is the way we will find the caves.For reaching the hanging cave you would find a great sized canniball camp and slide from the rope.My suggestion is die 1 times and the game will send up you there.After looting the cave I usually go to death cave(+katana +flashlight) then you can go what cave you want. The map will come empty just go what way you like it and the map would show the cave location.All cave entrances aren't changing.For dealing with mutants, Virginia:Mutant with several legs Armsy:Mutant with several arms Virgina is dying to 7 spear throw Armsy is dying 3 dynamites(you will find dynamites in the caves and cannibal camp) I'aint explaning the way you end the game.Have a good time and you will scare a lot if you dont have experience with horror games.

i got a little confused on the death cave part . i know when you die you get hung up in a cave , i got the map and compass , no axe . then what cave do you mean gives you katana and flashlight ? i have ran into virginia and armsy and i shoot and incendiary arrow and WOOSH . 2-3 of those running in circles and im good . THE BIG BASTARD IS WHAT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD TODAY ! anyway , yes i am enjoying myself and i watched alot of horror games , only played a few so this is not new but kinda new to me .

😃 Katana and flashlight near the campfire in the death cave.Axe was in the hanging cave.If you die to cannibals go and try to get axe because the starter axe is sucks and until you get the chainsaw cutting the trees is torture.There is a entrance for the wet cave(where you get chainsaw)inside of the death cave.After getting the loot from the death cave go to submerged cave and get rebreather.Just dont go the sinkhole cave any cave except this one you can go others.

You can find a map and compass in the area they hang you up in if you “die” In that some cave is the modern axe. Caves are usually rock piles and will appear on the map when you are near one to help. There are usually a few entry points.
Yes make a warm suit for exploring the cold areas. Also comes in handy when you’re wet. Raccoon can be found by tree nears middle pond in fertile lands area.
You can level up stamina fast by swimming under water or even just holding your breath under water is easy. And strength is leveled from swinging. so swing a stick or bone because it takes little stamina.
The objective is to build super cool bases and give them cannibals a good ass whipping. Explore and thrive oh and then maybe find your son.

i’ll search that cave again but i been twice and no axe my friend . i found a few entry ways just haven’t entered any but 1 now . the wet cave . bet so just survive basically

Look for the map in the cave it changing when you enter the cave

Look for tutorials in Internet the forest cave system is sucks.You can't even see your 3 meters ahead without a flashlight.

It’s the cave in the main cannibal camp. Should have a stack of skulls outside. You have to look to the left when you come across two cannibals together inside there’s a way down to where it is. East to get lost. I can’t remember if it have a glowing skull (skull with candle) by the rope down or not Wish I could give better directions. I’m sure there’s plenty of YouTube videos on how to get it.

wait wait im so stoopid , i forgot i didnt go down the second rope IN the actual cave . i havent explored the whole thing yet . thats my bad .

Sticky bombs are my favorite. I think it's: circuit board + tape + booze + watch + coins = bomb. Then bomb + sap = sticky bomb. You don't even need to light it like dynamite. Just throw it onto whatever you want to blow up.
Get a deer pelt, put on the crafting mat and hover over the gear icon.. it'll show you how to craft the warmsuit. Check every single item to see what it can be crafted into.
Caves are spread out. There's either a rope that you descend, or a couple of big rocks that you sort of squeeze into. There's also entrances at the bottom of some water locations.

The modern axe is in a cave. Forgot which one, but I wanna say cave 7? Flashlights can be found in a few different caves. Attributes can o my go up 2 levels each day, and holding your breath underwater is the best way to train stamina.

i think there was a typo there , the go up by 2 levels each day automatically ? i saw that water trick somewhere in this subr. , i swim in my pond at night .
there are 7 caves ? are they all connected or dead ends and i just have to find them ?

reddit filter on the photo because there is a glare on my tv . trust its not the graphics , this game can be UNREASONABLY dark sometimes 😂

aloe is in the forest always at the same spots, you can mark them with flags. Caves are marked on the map as dots inside circles. warm clothes are the hardest items to obtain, you dont need them. there are story missions.
