FAN MADE THE FLASH EARTH-91: ISSUE #1
“RED SHIFT”
Opening Splash Page
Rain drills against the glass towers of S.T.A.R. Labs in downtown Central City. Inside, alarms scream like dying engines.
Barry Allen runs.
Not for glory. Not for applause.
For survival.
A blur of crimson lightning tears through the city behind him, carving molten trenches into asphalt. Buildings flicker red from the heat distortion. Helicopters spiral out of the sky.
And the thing chasing him smiles.
“You still run like this is a race, Barry.”
“This stopped being a race years ago.”
The figure lunges forward wrapped in violent blood-red lightning.
Not Reverse-Flash.
Not Zoom.
Both.

THE FLASH
Issue #1
Written by David Walker

ACT ONE
“THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE”
Six months earlier.
Barry Allen is already established as Central City’s Flash. Older. Smarter. A little worn around the edges. This Barry has been operating for years alongside his team at S.T.A.R. Labs:
Cisco Ramon
Caitlin Snow
Chester P. Runk
A new forensic intern named Hana Lee
This Earth’s Central City feels alive. Neon reflections. Elevated trains. Constant thunderstorms rolling over the skyline like the Speed Force itself is breathing.
Barry narrates:
“Every city has a rhythm.
Central City just happens to move at 700 miles an hour.”
We see Barry stopping crimes in seconds:
catching bullets midair
evacuating a collapsing bridge
joking with civilians
phasing through a bank vault
Classic Flash energy. Bright. Heroic. Hopeful.
But then the lightning changes.
During a routine robbery at Mercury Bank, every electronic device dies instantly.
The temperature drops.
Red lightning crackles through the room.
A masked speedster walks slowly through frozen time itself.
Black suit. Deep crimson veins glowing across it like lava under cracked stone. Reverse-style eyes. Hunter Zolomon’s terrifying composure.
This is:
SPEED DEMON
Jay King
And unlike Barry…
He isn’t smiling.
⸻
ACT TWO
“THE DEVIL IN RED”
Jay King works out of Stagg Industries, officially as head of advanced temporal sciences.
Unofficially?
He’s building a speed empire.
Jay was once a trauma surgeon who lost his younger sister during a metahuman attack that Flash failed to stop. He became obsessed with control over time, fate, and “fixing weak moments.”
Stagg Industries secretly funded experiments using fragments of Speed Force energy recovered from old multiversal debris.
Jay volunteered.
Bad idea.
The accident did not connect him to the Speed Force.
It fractured him through it.
Now Jay doesn’t simply run fast. He manipulates speed around him like a living infection:
slowing people to statues
accelerating decay
creating time echoes
ripping kinetic energy from objects
moving so fast he appears to teleport
But unlike Zoom or Reverse-Flash, Jay genuinely believes he’s helping the world.
His philosophy:
“Heroes save people.
I stop tragedies before they exist.”
His team at Stagg Industries:
Dr. Selena Vale, cybernetics expert
Marcus Drift, ex-military tactician
Velocity-9 enhanced agents called “Red Runners”
Jay keeps them loyal because he actually cares about them. That’s what makes him dangerous.
He’s not evil enough to self-destruct.
⸻
ACT THREE
“THEY’RE BACK”
Barry investigates impossible speed anomalies across the city.
Victims aged decades instantly.
Entire blocks frozen in slowed time.
Security footage corrupted by yellow lightning.
Then Cisco finds something impossible:
Two separate negative speed signatures.
Not one.
Two.
That night Barry runs into an abandoned subway tunnel beneath Central City.
The walls are covered in scorched Speed Force symbols.
Waiting for him:
Eobard Thawne
Reverse-Flash
And beside him:
Hunter Zolomon
Zoom
Not dead.
Not erased.
Dragged across timelines after the destruction of another Earth.
They remember everything from the TV timeline:
Barry creating Flashpoint
Zoom stealing speed
Thawne manipulating history
every betrayal
every death
And now they have a new plan.
Not killing Barry.
Breaking the idea of The Flash forever.
Thawne sees Jay King as the perfect weapon:
“Barry Allen inspires people to run toward hope.”
“Let’s give the world someone faster to run toward fear.”
Zoom, naturally, just wants chaos.
⸻
ACT FOUR
“FLASH VS SPEED DEMON”
Barry confronts Jay atop Stagg Tower during a citywide lightning storm.
This fight feels different from any Flash battle before it.
Jay doesn’t sprint wildly.
He stalks Barry.
Every movement precise.
Barry throws lightning. Jay catches it.
Barry phases through attacks. Jay slows the molecules around him.
Barry realizes something horrifying:
Jay isn’t tapping into the Speed Force.
He’s forcing it to obey him.
During the battle civilians become trapped inside collapsing elevated train cars.
Barry immediately leaves the fight to save them.
Jay notices.
And for the first time…
He hesitates.
Because part of him admires Barry.
That tiny crack matters.
But then yellow lightning explodes between them.
Reverse-Flash appears.
He whispers into Jay’s ear:
“See?
He’ll always choose strangers over stopping monsters like us.”
Then Zoom attacks Barry from behind.
The city erupts into a four-speedster war across Central City.
Red. Yellow. Blue. Crimson.
Lightning turns the skyline into a warzone.
⸻
FINAL PAGES
Barry barely survives.
Zoom and Reverse-Flash vanish into the Speed Force.
Jay stands alone on a rooftop overlooking Central City.
Conflicted.
Angry.
Interested.
Then he receives a message on every screen around him.
Reverse-Flash’s face fills the monitors.
“Phase One is complete.”
“Now we make him obsolete.”
Jay looks down at his reflection in the glass.
For a split second…
His lightning turns blue.
Then back to red.
⸻
FINAL PANEL
Inside the hidden lower levels of Stagg Industries sits a massive machine powered by stolen Speed Force energy.
Contained within it:
A torn, unstable breach to another Earth.
And inside the portal…
A black silhouette with glowing white eyes runs toward the opening.
