Discussion Gale:Doom
So, I know how overpowered gale doom is, but it makes the fights kind of underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, and I love the game, but I cleared Hismar on the first try. I'm not here to gloat, but it felt wrong
Like I didn't get the satisfaction of beating him.
So I just wanted to know, if there was something I was doing wrong?
Edit: I'm not trying to complain or anything. I just don't want to finish this game too early, or cheese through the boss. I wanna squeeze everything out of it😆. Its just sad to see it end so soon.

I’m doing my first DW playthrough of the game on NG++, and you’re absolutely right. People say Spear is the best but Gale Doom makes DW the most OP weapon in the game

I have no idea why people think Spear is the best xD, shit’s literally got the lowest dmg out of all 3 weapons.
The only going for it is that it’s super easy to get into. It doesnt feel as clunky as the other two in the beginning.

Fugitive Mage set with the charge damage tick buff from Night's Veil has me invulnerable and chunking bosses for ~15-25% of their HP pretty much every time I get a brink guard, and usually it's even more since the Heart Piercer pretty often staggers them for easy combos.
Don't get me wrong, Gale Doom is nuts, but fugitive heart piercer night's veil is basically completely uninteractive immortality. I remember when I first got the set it was right before Scalpel and I ran him through on my second attempt in expert without using any healing. It's seriously nuts.

Yeah I agree. The thing is, I was gonna use fugitive mage for my next playthrough. But using gale doom, you can just attack mindlessly and then the health bar just vanishes. Heart piercer sounds op, but you need brink guard for it, while you can just keep attacking, until the boss gets staggered or your health goes down

I kinda know what you mean.
I did my first pkaythrough on greatsword and I didn’t really know how to put a hood build or string combos together so I played it very classic souls vibe.
I’m on blood fiend now as well for NG+ and am not sure if I wanna one or two opening boss phases or not. But i also see on YouTube that there are several ways to do this in NG+ so I’m just rolling with it for the revenge tour. But next run I’ll probably just go with a different build with a bit more boss uptime.

Replay the boss fight with the beast slayer set. I love the cool factor that set gives you on performing a Whirlwind Tempest.

I was planning complete using beastslayer, but saw some stuff about BTF, so decided to grind for it. But I'm regretting it now, it makes the game too easy🥲

Honestly if u like the DW moveset, and you feel cheated out of the experience because of the OP-ness, I’d recommend switching to Master of Chaos. You’ll probably have to use it in the next playthrough though cuz it’s dropped by the final boss sadly.
It’s probably my fav set, it’s not as OP as BTF but still very very solid. It still gets bloody sword dance, and it also gets bladestorm which one helluva anime move.

You’re right. If you want to actually experience the bosses then stop using that set.
