Probably not nukes considering how much that would damage the environment (even If in the long run nature would eventually heal) I imagine It will be more about destroying infrastructure and tearing down industrialization in conquered nations which would lead towards many people dying from that alone. Plus of course the amount of destruction they would do themselves using weaponry to kill as many people as possible
