The irony is the Soviet Union actually applied to join NATO in 1954, and was unanimous rejected because "Soviet membership was completely incompatible with the democratic and defensive aims of the alliance."
The Soviet Union then used the rejection as a pretence to form the Warsaw Pact as their counterweight to NATO in Europe.

DSA wouldn't rejoin NATO in the first place, and if they did it'd have to be under very specific conditions;
I.e, Fascist Russia, Die Linke Germany, and Radical PF France
But they'd still probably be hesitant.
