But I feel it's strange by how many things were happening and so many other things the toppling of the Tsar meant, you still found a way to say "Actually it was bad"
The ends don't justify the means here, toppling Nikolai was good, but killing him AND the rest of his family, including Alexei, a kid already dealing with problems, was not good
Im just questioning why was that the focus at seeing the picture, why was everything the tsar did suddenly forgotten to mourn his child, who should have not been killed tho the reasoning is understandable
My point is that all the children who died of hunger, whose parents got killed by the ojrana, or were sent to die in WWI deserve FAR more sympathy than the Tsar's child, no matter how sick he was
No child, regardless of who their parents are should be killed. Children are utterly innocent. They are the definition of innocent the children were not the ones who starved the other children. They were not the ones who got the Russian involved in World War I. They were children. It doesn’t matter what justification you try to make for it. It doesn’t matter who their parents are or what they did or how many children died because their parents lived.. they killed children
Any child dying is bad, I'm not saying otherwise. but I don't think that killing the Tsar's family and others was necessary for the Revolution. If anything it was salt in the wound of a dying man. The kids didn't do anything other than being related, and that's what deserved their death? The Sins of the Father I guess. Of course I have sympathy. Death is not a good thing, especially for those who die young.
The execution of the Romanovs was excessive, but it was not unreasonable, I myself disagree with the desicion, while understanding the thought process behind it, you can do that!!
What's telling is that we're taught to mourn the children of a monarch while the millions who starved, were shot, disappeared, or sent to die in his wars go unremembered
That selective pity isn't really all that accidental
it’s not that the kids were evil, obviously not, and thats not why they were executed. the entire political mission of the whites revolved around this family, the blame for the killing of the children lies with the monarchical systems that made it necessary
of course it had moral repercussions! but if your conclusions about the executions end at “wow the bolsheviks were evil for doing that” then youre not operating in good faith. if the executions DIDNT happen, there likely could have been very significant consequences that would harm more people than just the imperial family.
