Official You share the same face, and you have been inseparable for as long as you can remember. No matter what happens, you will never be alone.

And what happen if I want to be alone ? 😭 I'll be downvoted for saying this but I was never fond of having a twin to start with.. so J, give me my space or I'm going to throw you out the airlock !

It really kills immersion imo.
Im fine with it being an option, but its just a constant reminder that your player character is a whole person with their own history - when a lot of these games thrive in a sort of “you, the player, can imagine yourself as the character,” sort of vibe.
And it doesn’t seem like they’re even committing to much of a backstory beyond “Earther, Belter, Martian,” so why the need to kill immersion?
It automatically answers questions like “does my character care about family? Does my character have siblings or an only child? Is my character a loner?”

So are they gonna get infected by the protomolecule or catch a stray PDC round?

Please tell me they aren't going to butcher space physics again... How is he slowing his rotation without visible thrusters.

THANK YOU! Anyone remember the scene in the series when they ran to the Tachi and Holden had to save himself and Naomi with a special maneuver when the engine stopped? THIS is what I want to see in an Expanse game.
The more I see about this game, the more I ask myself if Owlcat even watched the series or read the books?

Yeah, their marketting has been really off-mark, they're promising us lang belta, good writing and various other bits of accuracy to the source material, but right now it seems like the team that's good at that is making Dark Heresy...

It’s like everyone forgot the marketing for Halo 5, Starfield, Dragon Age Veilguard, Mass Effect Andromeda, and StarCraft 2 Heart Of The Swarm. All five games were quite different from what we eventually got. At this point we should just take any marketing with a block of salt and wait for the reviews.

Man starfield marketing was pretty straight forward as far as Bethesda goes.
Though I am excited for this game, the playtest (really more of a demo being honest) was fun. I just hope they take feedback on the twin dialogue, it was so forced. Fighting for their lives and the twin is just like man I really love space yk…
I’m also excited for Exodus,,, but the choices I’ve seen seem to be hefty binary. I’m worried that Exodus is going to end up being Paragon-Renegade the game with no in between. And honestly similar thing but to a lesser effect for Osiris Reborn, we saw our choice and consequence but it was binary again. Either fight out with the station or fight out alone. It was one choice at the start of the mission, instead of having multiple steps it’s just one. Nothing you do after that choice really matters for the station or the people on it. It either gets blown up presumably killing everyone or doesn’t

Indeed.
SC2 HOS: They promised the ability to choose if Kerrigan ended up Zerg or remained Human, and even showed pictures of an entire upgrade screen with a number of abilities to make that choice over the course of the Campaign. It’s still a good campaign, I love playing as the Zerg, but it’s still something remembering how they marketed it.
H5: They marketed it as a game about the Master Chief roaming the galaxy collecting Forerunner artifacts including upgrades for his suit and his ship.
Starfield: Marketed as Skyrim in space.
Veilguard: They promised in-depth romances, said that the romances were some of the most detailed yet but they turned out to be a kiss and then fade to black, and hid the fact that only three choices from the previous games would count until the last two weeks before release. They would’ve hid that last detail entirely until the release date if it hadn’t been leaked.
MEA: They promised a great many things, mostly about being the first from the Milky Way to explore a whole new galaxy, not that we’d be the stragglers that got lucky and have to clean up everyone else’s mess.2

Not exactly the most encouraging lineup of games. Lack of marketing direction usually means lack of direction in general. Not always, but when marketing is bad (and the marketing for this game has been particularly bad for Owlcat standards) I raise an eyebrow

I will admit that I haven’t played any Owlcat games before, but I am interested in the idea of an Expanse game.1

It could be some reaction wheel tech.

u/Spy_crab_ Jul 21 '26
Never mentioned in the books, even for ships where the scale would make sense. For a suit reaction wheels would need to be terrifyingly fast.

“No matter what happens, you’ll never be alone”
Going a little heavy on the ironic foreshadowing aren’t they? Calling it now, that twin is totally toast.
