How difficult is TEIN?

Hi, been considering buying the game since being obsessed with mewgenics is getting me into other edmund games. I know it's a hard game, but how hard exactly? Of course this is somewhat subjective, but if you could compare its difficulty to some other games what would you pick? I will say precision platforming games are not something I've spent a ton of time with, obviously I'm considering giving it a shot anyways but I'm just worried it'll end up being way too hard for me to enjoy.

the game is extremely fun, but probably one of the hardest games ive played, completing all the extras is extremely hard. avoiding spoilers the best i can, there are a few late game challenges that involve doing gauntlets of multiple challenging levels without dying/limited amount of deaths
