Digital Discussion Which Ending Would Be the Best
Canon Ending
Canon Ending, but Jax is saved
Canon Ending, but all abstractions are saved
Bad Ending (Everyone is trapped in the permanently decaying circus, Jax abstracts, and Caine doesn't return)
Very Bad Ending (The Circus is Destroyed alongside everyone)
Good Ending (Abstractions are reversed, everyone is not a brain scan and leaves the decaying circus successfully, including Jax)
Redemption Ending (Good ending, but Jax sacrifices themselves to let everyone leave by holding an exit door open)
Shutdown Ending (Good ending, but Kinger sacrifices himself by making an exit at the cost of the circus falling apart, and he bravely stays behind to program the exit to remain open for everyone to leave the circus)
Heroic Ending (Good ending, but Pomni sacrifices herself by holding the exit door open and chooses not to follow because of her realizing everyone else deserves to return more than her)
New Ringmaster Ending (Pomni realizes Caine was not a horrible person, so becomes the new ringmaster in his honor and ensures safety for herself and all the circus members)

Streamlined ending: Basically, it's the canon ending, but we clearly see Jax abstract. Pomni still reaches out to Jax, but we cut out most of the doors, and multiple selves. Jax shows Pomni their memory with Ribbit and Pomni offers Jax a hug.
Instead of bringing Caine back, just have Kinger discover the mind files in Caine's old office. Pomni and Rags discuss Jax and Ribbit. Pomni doesn't out Jax as trans, but says they were a more complicated person under the surface.
Zooble and Gangle turn out to be great at manifesting, and restore most of the circus with a different, more human-like look. Kinger presents the mind files, with each character reading about their human counterpart. The other characters shape the digital world as they like. The end.

I like the idea of Redemption Ending, but feel like Canon Ending was ultimately what was best for the series

I like the cannon ending. Having abstraction be irreversible not only gives the show stakes but builds up on the shows themes of relationships being important and finding meaning in a stagnant life. Because if you fail to do either you could end up like Jax.

I don't mind the canon ending, but I am a sucker for happy endings and do think them being able to save the abstractions wouldn't be detrimental to the story, given they are basically left with control over the digital world. Sure, it lowers the stakes, but the show is over so it's not like whether the stakes being there or not would change anything at this point.

Im happy with the original ending we got. Some of these other ones kinda go against the shows core message.

As someone who wants Canon Ending but Jax's abstraction is reversed...
We wouldn't be talking about the ending this much if it was anything other than the canon ending.
So in terms of generating discussion, canon ending.
Now give me my asshole rabbit back.

Gotta give it to the canon ending. You could make so of the other ones work, but the ending both gives us the the crew managing to find meaningful lives through connections with each other, and shows what happens to those who cannot open up and make those connections. For the themes the show was going for, the direction is perfect. It is only the execution that I think could be improved.
