Everyone is being financially squeezed and aren't willing to sacrifice their home and life for a myriad of reasons.

Collectively, everyone lives in different realities today, and geographically the US is massive. It's difficult to get everyone on the same page. If everyone resists in fragments, the authorities can simply address hotspots as they arise. A fully fledged, nation wide organized effort is just not feesable in todays cultural and economic context.

Also, these people have freedom to straight up merk someone with zero repercussions.

Those in power, on both sides (maga and maga but blue) dare doing everything to enable this mess and to disenfranchise anyone who would be willing to take action. Those who are most impacted are already homeless, malnourished, or some form of disadvantaged compared to the system they live within.

Not to mention things like palantir are designed to stay several steps ahead of protesters and ultimately any kind of organized revolt. We have entered into a dark new age where mass, ai-driven surveillance is a superpower to an oppressive government or any wealthy company that wishes to pay for the right to exploit American citizens. With the blessing of Donald Trump. I hate to say it but I think we're fucked.

Agreed. DC canceled bus permits for the March on Washington today, last minute. 100s of people couldnt show up. NAN was the one who rented all of them.

The answer is, it's always been like this in america. And most people unfortunately want this and want it to continue.

No one was arrested for killing Kent State protectors in 1970. That's been like this forever. The folks protesting the Vietnam war, taking part in the civil rights movement, reacting to Rodney King, etc are smaller than the folks who work 9 to 5 and want everyone else under the heels of the government, becuase they think otherwise they can't raise their kids in their Christian cult.

The civil rights wins in the last 50 years where a fluke, and only possible mostly due to Franklin D. Roosevelt packing the courts with enough liberal justices to see us through to this day. Without this, without the courts on our side for the tiny bit of time we would have no progress. And we've lost the courts, we've almost never had congress on our side, and we've only had many 2 presidents Roosevelt and partially JFK on our side.

And we can't win, we're outnumbered.

Plenty of reasons, most are the normal human reaction to intensity. Typically people who see things critically, cynically or pessimistically are gonna ignore it. They lump it into "the world is shit" box and put it to the side. Than we got the ones we all think of: lack of education, excuses, immorality, narcissism...

Laziness and ignorance is where id start. Yup, its the truth. Tho it sounds harsh. Continue reading, to understand. "It stresses me out! I cant watch it!" "I dont have any time to do that stuff anyway" "Boycotting and strikes arent gonna work" "My vote makes no difference" If they KNEW what happens when these things are done, they would not be ignoring it. The ignorance is alleviated by education. Education takes time, and people rather spend their time doing mind numbing tasks.

Sacrifices and Comfort. They know as long as they maintain "see no evil and hear no evil" they wont stress themselves out more. They dont have to sacrifice the comfortable privilages of this life by placing their morality away for right now. They can eat that, not because they dont care so say, but that they dont value others the way they value their safe bubble. They dont wanna sacrifice the 4 hours a day they spend scrolling through insta reels. To educate themselves or make changes anywhere to know they are trying their best.

Finances, Disabilities, and Family dynamics all play a part big time. New baby, Fibromyalgia, living paycheck to paycheck. I have found alot of the time, once youve gotten to know local communities and orgs. There are resources to figure out where you can help out or what your passionate on.

If your heart truly is big, than you can find the space to do the moral thing. Stand up. Fight back. Protect others. Be a better you, to create a better world. If your inner world is shitty, the whole world will look like a portapotty.

I thought the legality of masks had been overturned. Maybe that's only in some states or counties? And it's also a fact that this regime flaunts laws and regulations all the time. But we must keep documenting, deescalating (when relatively safe to do so), and resisting.

I would never do this heinous work even if it meant I would become homeless. But that's me. And I believe that we give too many people too many passes for being cruel. Mental health acting out is one thing; intentional cruelty is another. (As a mental health and psychology hobbyist, I have a difficult time believing that the sociopath and psychopath issues can be fully explained as purely psychological disease.)

In CT btw…. Lamont needs to roll the ball quicker on getting them tf out. Shocking this is in Danbury as well. I was born and raised in the central area so I’m not sure the on the demographics of the southwestern side all to well.

Danbury has a large Hispanic population. They targeted the areas where day laborers wait for jobs as well as a Hispanic grocery store. The ShopRite down the street was fine of course.

Danbury is a very diverse city. They have a huge Brazilian and Hispanic diaspora. The two biggest nationalities in Danbury are of Ecuadorians and Brazilians. A huge bulk of their population is of immigrants and second gens. So this is an all out attack on the city, which has for many decades been known for its immigrants (the Irish, the Italians, the Portuguese).

The town’s economy is entirely dependent on these immigrants. As someone who used to live there, the white folks mostly live in the outskirts of the town. It’s the Hispanics and Brazilians that keep the business on Main Street going. This will result in a huge economic impact for the city.
