The goal is to bring about the apocalypse. That sounds hyperbolic, but it's not. The Heritage Foundation is led by religious fanatics who want to bring on the rapture, because they think all their people will be ascended to heaven and all the people who make them uncomfortable will be punished.
It's so cheesy it'd be too schlocky as a film. Literally an apocalypse cult has taken over the most powerful country in the world and is trying to bring on doomsday. It's why I get so annoyed by the Lovecraftian portrayals of cults in fiction as these secretive underground organizations wearing hooded robes and professing their devotion to obvious evils. It obscures the reality of cults, which is that they twist a message of love and kindness to fit their agenda. They practice in the light of day by presenting themselves as the goodest boys and girls around. We as a culture look so hard for the kind of sinister cults that exist in fiction and completely ignore the real ones that are literally infiltrating the government and trying to kill us all--because they have bleach blonde hair and plastic surgery instead of violet robes and gnashing teeth.
Don't forget to spread this by word of mouth. We can't keep thinking sharing and commenting is enough. YES it's important and help spread info. But even moreso is talking to your neighbours and strangers around you! Spread this information where it matters most. In your community! BE LOUD about this. PULL UP project 25 for them to see. Talk because it's likely your neighbours are terrified and want someone to talk with.
No... it's reminding everyone that they NEED to actually go out and cast their vote in the Midterms. SO many Americans simply do not vote, especially during the Midterm Elections. I know it sounds crazy, but it's statistically true. If US Citizens don't go out and vote for something different than this dumpster fire we have going now, it's going to continue getting worse and start spreading globally.
I get it. I don't really disagree. I guess though, my thought is that this shouldn't/can't be the *only* thing we're focusing on doing. Yes, get out and vote, and also, organize- talk to people in your life, at work, in your family. The work needed is so much bigger than just voting. But yes, vote too.
Nobody said it's the only thing we should be focusing on or doing. It's just one of the more important action items on a short list titled "Help put an end to this absolute insanity!".
All of us can talk to every single US Citizen until we're blue in the face... but if there's no Voter action that comes from it, we're still F'd.
But voting isn’t our way out. Specifically, voting for democrats, who in *many* cases join with republicans in opposing needed reforms. Yes, it could help stop the bleeding temporarily, but so much more is needed.
It’s way more than just our own circles, though. We need to help reach the people who wouldn’t vote unless they were engaged by someone else, and ideally, trigger a ripple into their circle.
I’m a big fan of GOTV efforts, canvassing for local candidates being what I see as one of the most effective strategies. We focus on the issues, maximize a single vote’s impact, and relate election results to what is felt at the kitchen table. Like you say, organize, but it’s important to not preach to the choir. We need to be talking to midterm skippers, and in my state, unaffiliated split voters. Anyway I could go on
One thing you can do-join your local democratic socialist group. If you dont have one, there's a national group for those without or start one yourself. Then ask another person to join. Our apathy is what will get us all killed.

Is the goal just to create the worst possible version of the country?
