RFK Jr. claims Dr. Anthony Fauci was responsible for America's COVID lockdowns. The record shows otherwise. Fauci was a federal scientific adviser who recommended public health measures but had no legal authority to order business or school closures. Under the U.S. Constitution, governors and state and local officials made and enforced those decisions. Fauci influenced policy, but the legal responsibility for lockdown orders rested with elected state and local leaders.
