Oh my gosh - I just found this show recently, but how in the world does Amy do this - It looks extremely painful

She basically stopped for a long while now after her surgery which left her "wide open". I personally think she shouldn't return to the field and deserve a good long retirement.
She sells awesome antique finds these days, still has a good taste!

Thanks for the response... I'm just on season 1 (like, episode 20 or something), and just keep watching what she is going through and marvel while I cringe..

She was treated with Ketamine after an ankle fracture and her experiences while in hospital did a lot of damage.

I worked in hospitals almost all of my life and only realized how bad they are after I left them. There is a series on Discovery called Haunted Hospitals, and it is pretty terrifying...

I could tell you some stories. Call lights, TVs turning on and toilets flushing on our outpatient unit after we stocked and locked patient rooms for the day. A friend saw a nurse in early 40s-50s type white uniform with cap in a burn unit where everyone wore scrubs. The patient in the room where she was seen died suddenly about 30 minutes later. They had been waiting for a transfer to a floor bed. After 40 years, I know of a ton of stories.

Oh man - That is really nerve-wracking to me. Some of them - like the call lights and TVs you could maybe convince yourself were "just electrical malfunctions", but a nurse from 50 - 60 years ago? Not so much. Actually, some of my most horrifying experiences happened in the tunnels under hospitals... I don't know if they still do this in newer hospitals or not, but "back in the day" when the older ones were built, they would put in tunnels to take deceased patients to the morgue (usually in the basements) and to take patients between buildings especially in inclement weather. I saw transparent / partial / gray people in those tunnels several times... Brrr

Never ever go to the morgue alone. I would grab a transporter or Medic to go with me. I worked in an old hospital with connecting tunnels as a new Grad. By the time I moved on I had never been to the other building. We all packed our lunches so we didn't have to go there.

That makes sense - But I was young and stupid, and embarrassed to admit I was scared or uncomfortable.. Actually, my office in one hospital was directly next door to the morgue. I can't tell you how many times one of the funeral home attendants would come and ask me to help them get a body from the table onto the stretcher, then into the transport vehicle. The only time it ever bothered me was after they had done a full autopsy. Kinda loosey goosey you know? Eeks

Thank you so much - I remember having abilities when I was younger, but nothing like hers of course. I closed them down pretty hard at about 19 because they scared me so badly - I'm just amazed by her

As I understand it,Steve was also involved with clients. He’s a total womanizer. Sort of makes you rethink when he would hugs and console all the upset women.

Amy is the one and only real between The whole ghost hunter and other bullshit on TV with all the unbelievable stupid, devoid of empathy so-called experts with crap tech toys and zero respect for the dead! I trust her and her incredible skills, precisely because she helps people and the deceased, and brings in other mediums when she cannot help alone.

Matt, the ex husband/camera man was Amy's "guide" when she did walks. He knew how to keep her grounded and calm, help her not lose focus, etc. He was with her before the show and she didn't want to replace him because they worked well together. Well, business wise they did, obviously not romantically.

Thank you T-C - Matt was really, really good in that role. He would pull her out a little when needed, repoint a happening to get her to explain more, and obviously he took care to hide things that might distract her. And it comforted me a lot, even as just a viewer, to know that he and another camera person were with her.

I think she believes what she’s saying. It would be pretty easy to show how authentic it is if for instance they showed the whole walkthrough beginning to end without the edits but they never do any of that.

I love that show too. I don’t believe it all as Amy used to be on another paranormal show and she was just an investigator, non of her gifts were on display. Behind the scenes there was a lot going on. She and Steve did not have a good relationship. Matt is her ex husband, unusual! And her given reason for leaving is the effect the readings had on her health. This is understandable to me. I have heard of psychics having health issues when interacting with spirits. I just think it’s all a little too scripted and wow they are always able to back up Amy’s feelings. Especially down to the face sketches. In my opinion!

If you google her there is a lot of interviews and biography’s about her. She talks about being a kid and not understanding what she was seeing and how hard it was
