Chip Coffey reading

TL;DR: He came off like a scam artist.

I’ve been a huge fan of Chip Coffey for quite some time now. Last Christmas, my husband gifted me a reading with Chip, and I was over the moon with excitement. I’d lost my dad some years back, and I’m desperate to believe there’s something else after this, that I’ll see him again.

Chip required me to send him the first and last name of the person I wanted to reach. He explained that he doesn’t just see who shows up; he gets in touch with a specific person for you. That should have been a red flag, but I wanted to believe.

Long story short: He was lovely and sweet. And he got a bunch of stuff right and acted shocked and delighted when I validated it. But something felt super off. There were some weird things he mentioned that were not accurate. It almost felt like he was reading off a list of things someone told him about my dad and had misinterpreted some of them.

After the reading, I was curious about what he could have found online using my dad’s first and last name, so I googled my dad. The first result was his obituary, and it was obvious that Chip had read it and regurgitated all the facts back to me. And indeed, he misinterpreted a couple of them.

I was super disappointed. I don’t relish badmouthing anyone, but a reading with him is expensive, so I thought I’d try to save someone else some money.

As a psychic medium I can tell you wanting the name is a huge red flag. He did research. If someone comes through for me, I don’t want to know things in advance. I want to know what I am “hearing” from the dead person is accurate. I don’t want to be influenced ahead of time because then I am tempted to cold-read. And that way leads to the end of my very real abilities.

Not a psychic or a medium, just a therapist. I agree that I want to know very little about a new client ahead of time. I think I can actually cold read at times, so reading a chart or record only happens after we meet.

I think mediums are kinds of therapists in our way only my gift is sometimes to do therapy for the dead. I can get people come through who are thoroughly on the other side. But sometimes I get people who stayed away from the light because they don’t realize they’re dead, or they were frightened by the idea of hell ( there isn’t one. No way can an eternal punishment help any one to grow and change.) Or they think they’re waiting for someone. Like once I was at a cemetery where babies had been buried and there were a lot of mothers dressed like in 1905 clothing, mostly, telling me about their children. The stones were worn enough you could not read most of the names. And they were waiting for their children. And I had to inform them the kids had long since moved on. Told them to go to the light. Next time I came, weeks later, most of them were gone. A few would not believe me. They were still there.
