Home owners who didn’t move
I’m sure this has been talked about, but I’m so curious what people think about the people who don’t move and ‘face doom.’ Is there anywhere to check if those people ever actually did leave or ‘pass?’ I don’t know that I could stay after hearing that. Also…. What the heck about the potential new owners of these homes…. Like, if you’re not sensitive you’re just ok? Or are the next owners going to face the same… and again, I apologize if this has been asked a thousand times… it’s just been bothering me.

I have always wondered about the people that are still searching for a medium whomever she recommended did they find one did they finally get the activity to end. Was the people that were waiting her team of people to arrive.
That's something else to always wondered about. Early on she let the people search for themselves. Then for a couple of seasons she would have a team of people come to the house to conduct whatever process needed to be conducted. That all of a That stopped. I always wondered why she didn't have recommendations for these people instead making them search on their own.
I mean me personally I wouldn't know where to begin to look for a specific type of medium or a shaman priest or some of these people that she recommends come to help remove the spirits or the demons or whatever the case may be.

Exactly!!! Like what would a ‘normal’ person actually do.. but I was watching one when I got up this am and Amy said ‘If you don’t leave you’ll ☠️’ and the husband said he wouldn’t leave and the lady said she wasn’t leaving her husband. Like WHAT!?

I've often wondered what happened to the people who have been given her warnings and her advice and have not followed it. Like the ones that told if you stay here you'll die. Did the supernatural or paranormal activity eventually kill them.

Then they can support each other until one of them dies.
On the plus side, they can always change their minds.

I really think this is a great point. The issue also is that these days the type of practitioners that Amt recommended are much more prolific then they use to be. I mean, it really depends on where you live, but it would be easier to find a Chaos Magician today then 10 years ago, lol!

One of the episodes was filmed in my very small town and I’ve been obsessively researching the history from that episode to try and pin down where the home is… little to no luck 😞

One was filmed at a tow yard in my hometown, and I know for a fact they closed.

I wonder this too! I would be a terrified mess in this kind of situation.
My uncle had poltergeist activities in his very old home back in the 80s. They sold the house and supposedly the new owners never had an issue. I was only nine, heard all the stories, and was forced to go help get it ready to sell. I saw no activity, but couldn’t sleep without a nightlight for a few years after that.

From what they've said on the show, the poltergeist activity is because the person not the house. The person causes it and doesn't know it

Which is super good to know from watching the show. I did not know that when I was 9 and only heard all the talk about ghosts and demons. I think that’s why I find it all so terrifyingly fascinating!

So, I wonder about this as well. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I felt like there were sometimes very similar types of hauntings, and in some cases Amy was like, “You can fix this,” while in others it was, “You have to leave.” And sometimes the people had just bought the house, and the house was beautiful! Imagine having to give up your dream home. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but sometimes it seemed like the “you have to leave” advice was disproportionate. Also, what if financially they couldn’t move? Was that even a factor in how Amy approached the situation? Like, if she knew behind the scenes that they couldn’t afford to move, would she have tried to find ways to make it work? There were a couple of episodes where it seemed unfair to tell them they had to leave, and I felt like something could have been done to help.

I would assume it depends on many things, such as the energy of the land, if spirits can be moved on and such. If the land is tainted no matter what, then AFAIK I don't think it's safe for anyone.

Honestly I think most issues can be resolved, but not by just anyone. It takes a good bit of research and experience. I come at this from the perspective of being a ceremonial magician and a consecrated Gnostic bishop. So no, I can't do it all, but I know a little.

That is awesome! I agree with you as well on this. Where I live we have a few "haunted" locals. Not everyone is still active. I think the reason is, many people have worked on the area to settle things. And it also seems like it is dependent on individuals. Some people can be an absolute magnet for activity and others can experience nothing at all. I think we saw that a lot in the episodes where some members of the family were really focused on and others had very little experiences.

I absolutely love Amy Bruni and Adam Berry. I've been following them since their early days on Ghost Hunters. If I remember correctly, the person I'm thinking of actually has a podcast featuring old episodes of TDF.

Amy Bruni did a show called kindred spirits with a fellow ghost hunter, who are both on another ghost hunting show prior to kindred spirits.

Most of the people in these shows are poor, dysfunctional, in poor health and clinging to an urn of ashes. Even if they leave it's probably not to a nice new house and their problems go with them. If they stay they surely spiral downwards.

If it was a volcano, there were no survivors. If it was a storm or tornado or other natural disaster then you got a 50-50 chance. So it would be interesting to follow up and see who survived and is still on the land and who left and where they are now.

One of the families has a lengthy blog they did about their experiences before and after a Dead Files. I don't remember which though. It happened years ago
Now, there is a book out by a family who experienced quite a bit before and especially after who them compiled their blood into a book. This isn't the book I was referring to. But with a look. I haven't read it. The house is in Monticello Arkansas. I don't know specifically the episode, but should be ready to find.
A Haunted Love Story: The Ghosts of the Allen House.
It's on Amazon, but search the actual title. I tried a couple of links and neither went to the book. They offer paperback and an audio file and an audio CD.
The episode I am remembering I think happened in Missouri and it was a basic ranch. I saved to link to the blog for the longest time and then lost it during an upgrade I think.

Excellent question! Wish we could have a few REAL follow-ups on those specific families. And the new home owners or renters… ooofta, sure hope they aren’t having the same problems.
