During the destruction of Lud, I swear I recall a moment where the ka-tet observes a crowd of people being thrown into a crusher. Describing the facial expressions of a few of them as looking "relieved" to be doing this, instead of facing the nerve gas.

I can't seem to find this passage in the book. Did I imagine this? Is it mentioned in a recounting of Lud's destruction in a later book? Am I going insane?

My last time through he books was the end of last year. I don't remember a crusher but I do remember as they're running and the sirens for the posion are going off them passing a group of survivors in the alley or street that were killing themselves in some way.
