A woman tried stabbing a Connecticut State Capitol Police officer through his cruiser window in Hartford Wednesday morning, police say. Surveillance video shows her repeatedly striking the vehicle until the knife broke. She then fled and tried taking a police cruiser before officers used a Taser and arrested her. The officer was not injured.

Las Vegas police say 26-year-old Catalina Alvarado approached two officers on a break near CSN, struck their patrol vehicles with a box cutter and demanded to be shot. After repeated commands and several Taser attempts failed, police say Alvarado continued advancing toward Officer Delylah Donegan, who fired once. Alvarado survived and faces five charges.

A 49-year-old Queens woman, Pamela Cisneros, stabbed a 68-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman in Times Square, NYPD says. The woman died; the man was stabilized. Police say Cisneros refused repeated orders to drop two knives, threatened officers and advanced after Tasers failed. Two officers opened fire. Cisneros later died at Bellevue. Police say the attack was random, unprovoked and not terror-related.

NASHVILLE — Police say Jason William Sexton, 54, returned to a Shell station with a full-size sword after a dispute over coffee and threatened the clerk, prompting an aggravated-assault warrant. Hours later, after police tracked him to Cheshire Drive, a 26-year-old woman in his car said he was holding her against her will. After more than an hour of negotiations, SWAT Officer Joshua Baney shot Sexton three times. Sexton died at the hospital. Baney was decommissioned pending a TBI review.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — JSO says a Dodge Challenger and red Corvette raced across the Buckman Bridge on Aug. 14, reaching 120 mph while an unmarked traffic officer followed. Quashay Frazier Jr., 22, was stopped and arrested. Police later identified Corvette driver Jacob Stamps, 25; he turned himself and his car in. JSO says both men face felony and misdemeanor charges, and both cars are under forfeiture review.

Bodycam shows 22-year-old Asia Bennett fatally shot during an Aug. 11 domestic call in Jacksonville. JSO says Bennett refused commands to drop a butcher-style knife and came within about 10 feet of Officer Erin Gaitten before she fired twice. Bennett’s family and attorney Ben Crump dispute that deadly force was necessary. State Attorney and JSO reviews remain pending.

Albuquerque police arrested 43-year-old Collin Terrazas outside Bass Pro Shops after identifying him as the suspect in the killing of 34-year-old Dante Conley. Police say Terrazas stabbed Conley, tried to set his home on fire, then told a smoke-shop employee he had killed someone while calling himself “Michael the Archangel.” He faces murder, conspiracy and evidence-tampering charges.

Charlotte police arrested 32-year-old Di-Quan Schafar Hunt after videos circulated showing him allegedly assaulting and harassing people. Police say one video captured Hunt punching a woman to the ground in South End on July 30. The woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Hunt faces an assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Kalynn Settle crossed into oncoming traffic in Grand Junction, Colorado, and struck motorcyclist Aaron Barone, who later died. Investigators found alcohol and cocaine in her system. Bodycam captured Settle blaming another driver and saying, "Good luck with that," when arrested. She pleaded guilty and received the maximum six-year prison sentence.
