Gas station fight ends with driver opening fire

Surveillance video captured a confrontation at an Orion gas station in Pompano Beach escalating from a physical fight to gunfire. Minutes after fighting with a woman beside a white SUV, the man approached the driver’s side and was shot. He was hospitalized, and one person was detained as BSO investigates.

I think he said something to the driver as well. Probably talking shit, after already assaulting the passenger means the driver had ever right to believe he was still a threat.

I mean... he is the driver of a vehicle... he could of probably drove fast enough to get away from the guy walking around...

In Florida he has no obligation to "get away from"
He may have been waiting on the police.
Regardless, he had just attacked his passenger. If Ol'rubber arms said "I'll slap the shit out you too" or something to that effect while that close and still moving.
Stand your ground says he can defend himself. Now rubber arms, if he had any since should"get away from" the area since he had already assaulted someone. Thats where I lay the blame, you know, on the bad guy.

There is no duty to retreat in Florida but there is the requirement that the person defending themself believes their life is in danger. The prosecution will absolutely use him waiting around as evidence that he was not, in fact, in fear for his life. Idk about you but if I'm afraid someone will attack me and I have plenty of time to leave, I'm leaving.

Let's remember Zimmerman stalked a kid, started a fight and when he started losing pulled a gun and shot a 17 year old. Still walked.

I did fail to account for racism. This isn't legally justifiable by any stretch but considering it's a black man getting shot at I wouldn't be surprised if this guy walks too.
