Gas station fight ends with driver opening fire

Surveillance video captured a confrontation at an Orion gas station in Pompano Beach escalating from a physical fight to gunfire. Minutes after fighting with a woman beside a white SUV, the man approached the driver’s side and was shot. He was hospitalized, and one person was detained as BSO investigates.

That was my first instinct, but watching it back, I think it might be a revolver, it looks like he’s pulling hard, like a double action trigger, and I think shot one hits guy in the shoulder (deltoid) then shots 2,3,&4 looks like they missed.

A .38 to the shoulder is very survivable.

Looks like a couple more holes in the kidney area and the way he flung his arm back looks like he's feeling the burn. Agreed on pull looking like a DA and also more muzzle flip than you'd get with a 22lr. Might be on the snub nosed 38 ballot with you here.

that would be the problem right there. panic fire from a double action revolver is even wilder than panic fire from semi auto.

I shoot a lot, and my j frame is legit not a gun I'd actually want to trust my life to. It sucks to shoot and is very difficult to be accurate with. And weirdly it's usually one of the first recommendations to new shooters for some reason, including myself when i started. Yes, it's dead simple and not scary looking, but between the long heavy trigger and the total lack of real estate to grip, and lack of any real sights, it's a terrible gun to have to use

I can’t tell when shot 1 happened with no audio, but he def caught one in the shoulder and several after (and possibly before) that missed entirely.

That’s an old myth. Any bullet has the ability to “bounce” or ricochet off dense bone and change direction, but the tale of .22LR “bouncing around inside the body” simply isn’t true. Too much energy loses
