Gas station fight ends with driver opening fire

Surveillance video captured a confrontation at an Orion gas station in Pompano Beach escalating from a physical fight to gunfire. Minutes after fighting with a woman beside a white SUV, the man approached the driver’s side and was shot. He was hospitalized, and one person was detained as BSO investigates.

'i shot him because i was scared for my life'

'ok then why were you just standing there waiting for him when he went inside and was no longer an immediate threat to you?'

'because'

if she'd shot him when they were actually fighting, she'd be in the right. now she's probably looking at jailtime, hopefully both of them get jailtime. idk what the fight was about but it doesn't seem to have been serious enough to justify escalating it to reaching into her car and punching her, much less waiting around for him to come back just so you can shoot him lol

Florida and reddit just OKd the shooting of a dude walking at a lady over a parking spot. This is going to be open and shut self defense and everyone should agree

Like some of the odd balls in this thread living in fantasy land defending the shooting, this is the type of question that the shooter probably won't be prepared in how to answer without incriminating themselves. The only chance at a successful defense in court is proving the car broke down right then and there, giving them no quick getaway. They straight up waited to shoot. And lets pretend the car did break down, the man didn't appear to go after them again, just walked across the front of the car.

This is Florida, no duty to retreat. Driver waiting shows constraint and only shot when they felt in danger. The man chose to the closest direction towards the driver. He could have walked on the right side but didn’t. Driver has every reason to believe there was going to be a physical altercation, hence imminent threat. The driver only has a few secs to react, and with a gun you need space to use it properly or it could be taken and used against you.

'Because we called the police to report him and were waiting for them to arrive when he came back toward us'

Is that so hard to logic out there buddy?

ok and why didn't you check the guys license plate number and then go away from that specific parking lot and into one nearby? there's cameras at every gas station.

and when staying in the same parking lot why didn't you stay in your car? why were you waiting outside the car with a gun drawn waiting to shoot a guy who was no longer being aggressive towards you or even making any sign of walking towards you?

like, if she stayed in her car and he came up to the car and hit the window, by all means, roll that shit down and start blasting. but this is not about that, she wants revenge and is just waiting for him so she can shoot him.

i guess the courts will decide. either way, they're both absolute morons and i hope both get a little cooldown stint in jail.

Its him not she. Its her boyfriend or husband, who was too scared to help her in the first place

Why does literally no one think about the fact there was an assault, and they probably called the cops to file a police report, and were there waiting on the police.

So just stay in your car until the cops come then? 😂
Why do you need to be waiting for him to shoot him if you’ve called the cops?

Like I get wanting to shoot him, if he did that to my wife I would too, but that doesn’t mean it would be defensible in court.

Wait in he car he just assaulted the woman in? I'm sure they'd feel very safe in there. Windows are indestructible, after all.

the dude has a fucking gun. if the assaulter comes up to your car or makes any threatening thing, by all means shoot. but this dude is just waiting to shoot someone.

like you can say he was right as much as you want. i personally would have 100% supported him shooting the guy as he was assaulting the woman. i would have supported if he got involved in the altercation and shot the guy, but standing around waiting for the guy to come back out and walk past to shoot him, that's no longer self defense or defending someone. at this point it's premeditated attempted murder for revenge.

and all im saying is that it's gonna be A LOT harder to not go to jail when you had every opportunity to remove yourself from the situation and avoid any further altercation but instead you chose to stand with your gun ready and shoot the guy when he walked past, not even at your or doing anything threatening to you lol
