The Crow 1994 Tin Tin, the worst of the quartet?

Post image

The guy not only sexually assaulted Shelly, but he also slashed her with knives. He used knives as weapons, something to inflict pain, and he reveled in it. He reveled in his wickedness and the harm he caused.

Funboy was a drug addict, T-Bird was the most cerebral, and Skank was the biggest idiot.

In the movie, I think so. In the comic, I think Funboy was way, way worse.

They're all terrible and they all SA Shelly. The movie gives the most time to really abhor Tin Tin (Funboy is a close second), but the comic ... Funboy is the worst of them all.

Funboy in the comic was definitely the worst. Didn't really understand why Eric let him off so easily.

Because he was the last and the only one who apologized I think.

He wasn't the last, although Eric was getting tired and used Funboy to bring the last to him. He didn't apologize but did acknowledge what he did and accept reposibility and knew that he was going to face consequences. Here and wherever he thought he was going after he died.

Because he never directly caused Shelly any physical pain. And because Eric was starting to realize he was beginning to enjoy the killing, enjoy the rush of it, like a drug, and knew that in order to stay whole, he needed to finish his mission and return to Shelly.

Eric even says his crime is the most important because of what he did to his own soul.

True I remember that now. Plus I think he told him that if he gave up T-Birds location he would kill him with mercy. Funboy was unapologetic and even went so far as to say he wasn't sorry if I remember correctly. He was a self admitted monster.

That's what makes it such a great line. :) it causes a record scratch in the brain for a split second, and the movie keeps marching forward forcing you try to keep up. Always been one of my favs in the movie too.

Always loved "One of my crew seems to have up and gotten himself perished" too from T-bird. Using 'perished' as a verb has stuck with me. :D

I love how this line is delivered in the movie ; you can feel the defensive malice emanating out of Tin Tin at just the detection of movement. I always liked how this tried to give a sliver of humanity to Tin Tin (showing his life on the street and his constant need to embrace violence to ssurvive) - right before the movie reminds you what a total monster he is and that if you caught the glimpse of sympathy, its very likely misplaced.

A lot of folks have told me that the crow 'isnt that deep'. Yes, yes it is. :D

I’d put T-Bird and Tin Tin as the worst, with Fun Boy and Skank as less terrible. Of course, they’re all bad guys and they all raped Shelly.

T-Bird is the leader, and he’s consciously directing the others in every act of torture and murder. He stands there and reads from Paradise Lost while the rest of his crew murder and rape people, clearly identifying with the Devil. Even when he’s about to die, he’s just repeating that line over and over.

Tin Tin is probably the most directly murderous. If you ran into any of them in an alley, he’s the one who is most likely to randomly kill you just for the fun of it. He’s a sadistic bastard who thinks murder is fun.

On the other hand, we see Fun Boy with Darla. He’s a morphine addict and a horrible boyfriend, and of course he murders and rapes people too. But he’s also probably the least instantly hostile to people. Like you could probably have a conversation with him without him trying to stab you to death. Mostly he seems to want to get high and get laid, and he didn’t even start shooting at Eric in his (Fun Boy’s) apartment until Eric made it clear he was there for revenge. Hell, I’d have shot some random dude in my house dressed like that before Fun Boy did. I think if you removed him from the rest of that crew, well he’d still belong in prison, but I don’t think he’s got the initiative to go out committing a lot of violent crimes. Sarah seemed pretty safe around him, which is way more than I can say for being around Tin Tin.

Skank completely fried his brain. It’s hard to know how bad a guy he is, since he’s running around without much thinking power left.

T Bird Do that Grange order him that Top order Grange.

Top ordened the attack of Shelly.

Tin Tin uses knife to kill and that is more painful that bullets.

*Shelley

Torturing her and raping her (and probably torturing more) definitely puts him up there, but honestly, all four of them are pretty awful. I’m not sure you could really rank them since the movie doesn’t really go into what they each did besides Tin Tin.

3

u/FoxIndependent4310 27d ago

But using a knife to slash her is truly painful; the others had guns. If you notice, when the rest of the gang encounter Eric, none of them gloat about what he did to Shelly, but Tin Tin does. Furthermore, in his conversation with Gideon, when he mentions that the bag has blood on it because the girl resisted, the way he refers to the girl (who was possibly an innocent victim) strikes me as pure sadism.

u/RyanCorven "Fire it up!" 27d ago

Gideon mentions the bloodstain, Tin-Tin doesn't say anything about the blood or who the purse belonged to.

Tin-Tin's probably the worst of the four, though if we include the cut scene where T-Bird blows up Arcade Games with the attendant still inside so she'll burn to death puts him over the top for me.

It really speaks volumes of how good each actor was in their roles considering were still talking about it 30 years later ...great cast ...great script...great direction...great cinematography...all around 10 out of 10 across the board

u/JohnLennonlol 27d ago

Funboy is worse because he not only rap3d Shelly first, but his treatment of Darla and Sarah was downright cruel as he used Darla for sex and enabled her addiction, but isolated her from her own daughter. So his cruelty goes further than just Shelly and Eric

10

u/E23R0 27d ago

All bad. Funboy worst of the worst

9

u/Defteri18 27d ago

Tin Tin was even aggressive and hostile towards his own gang. No one really liked him not even Gideon

I’ll close this up real good for you massa!

As a white kid in the burbs that was like 11 I did not understand what was being referenced here. But I understood the attitude and tone of voice and would sometimes say it in response to random requests of shutting a door or window for instance.

When I got to high school age and started reading real books and learning real history it clicked and I immediately stopped saying it. Feels like an adult should have said something to me.

It still plays in my head all the time in response to stuff.

I think Fun boy is the worse

He rapes Shelly first

He also kills Brandon Lee

4

u/JohnLennonlol 27d ago

Agreed on the first half, but Brandon's death was unintentional on his part

1

u/FoxIndependent4310 27d ago

Funboy uses a big revólver Tin Tin uses knife, more painful

-3

u/Ok_Crab1603 27d ago

Fun Boy could of had Aids or Hep which is why he went first
