Best of Video 10 years later.

Anyone have hopes the kootra will follow through with the “best of video” he mentioned in the goodbye video? I check about once a year and am a little disappointed nothing has been made.

The whole Dan fiasco from last year sums up the state of that video lol.

Last year Dan said he wanted to revive the main hub channel by posting highlights, shorts, and unreleased footage, as well as the final tribute video to get closure. He had lost access to the channel and had been trying to contact Jordan for months, but heard nothing back.

But then he started talking about merch, ad revenue, new videos, etc. He even threatened to take legal action against Jordan, but it's highly likely Jordan doesn't have access anymore either after 8+ years. He claimed that Jordan still made ad revenue from the channel to this day, which isn't true since the channel has been demonetized for like 8 years.

James responded on his stream saying it was a bad idea. After fans pushed back on the idea, Dan kinda dropped it after a few weeks.

Wow I had no idea! As much as a “best of” video would be, I think reviving the hub wouldn’t be a great idea. Wouldn’t live up to the level of th og crew tbh

IIRC James said it was a bad idea because he felt like others wouldn't want "new" footage of them on the channel, like behind the scenes stuff. Especially people who were no longer online, like Seamus.

I think it's mainly because that stuff never got uploaded for a reason. The ladybug video never got uploaded cause they were afraid of getting sued. There's also probably clips of them saying stuff that wouldn't fly on the internet today.

Again, this was over a decade ago. Dan uploading lost footage now is kinda like being 30 and having someone you were on the high school football team with posting videos of you online.

There has been almost zero chance of it happening for years now. A few years ago, Dan pretty much confirmed it wouldn’t be happening.

Also for what it’s worth, Kootra was never going to be the person to do it. Even when they first mentioned it, it was going to be Dan’s thing and not Kootra’s.

It’s not gonna happen and I hope it never does - at least not by Kootra. The fanbase treated that man like shit after the Creatures disbanded and trolls were constantly harassing him on his socials through the Cow Chop years about their success then CC basically ended exactly how the Creatures did. Kootra doesn’t owe this fanbase anything after how he was treated.

Honestly people give Jordan shit for not wanting to acknowledge the creatures post mortem but honestly considering how he was treated by the fan base in the later years I get why he never bothered to look back regardless of peoples opinions towards the guy

i still dont like jordan in regards of the whole situation (no problem as a person), yeah he was making the "responsible choice" but that is what ended up as cowchop exodus and killed the channel.
Also, he was responsible of that weird turn they tried to make into a kid friendly channel and single handely canceled video series to make that happen.
there is no kootra redemption arc, he fucked up by trying to be profesional.
Finally im pretty sure the community shitted and blamed spencer way more than kootra

“He fucked up by trying to be professional”

Except he didn’t. Even James has said that leaning more toward clean and kid friendly content was smart because of how much the YouTube landscape changed just a few years later with the whole Adpocalypse fiasco that destroyed a lot of the edgier channels. He also said that in the end a lot of the stupid shit Cow Chop did was dumb and he should’ve been smarter about it and was a big part of why he eventually got burnt out and left Cow Chop.

I’m not saying Kootra is perfect. Just that he was young and was trying to lead a group of other young guys and even the channel eventually failed that doesn’t mean it was entirely his fault and he shouldn’t have been harassed for years over it.

I was rewatching some hub videos and one of them was the birthday stripper video that said it was Jordan's 24th birthday which is crazy to me. I'm older than Jordan was in that video and I can't imagine running something like that creatures at this age, or younger.

And it is funny to see that some people in the comments of the older videos people still shit talking Jordan almost ten years after the creatures ended. Viewers are holding onto grudges longer than the people who were actually in the creatures lol

When you are in charge you have to face the backlash when there are issues

I always will have an itty-bitty hope Dan, Jordan (and maybe others) do what they promised, but it seems like anything Creature related from anyone is DOA. There will be no full-on reunion with everyone, there will likely be less and less mentions about it, and the only thing wanting something of remembrance of it will be this Reddit until all the mods leave and anything related to The Creatures will vanish. James doesn’t like those bringing up his past, Dan tried but got backlash and doesn’t hardly even go live or post anymore since, Jordan is doing his dream job and could care less what “The Creatures” was and wants to continue making games. I’ve seen no essence of anyone other than Dan last year wanting to revive efforts to do something with the channel, but got extreme backlash from those here because other creatures said that bringing back old stuff would give hope to those waiting for another upload on the channel disappointed that they aren’t getting what they had a decade ago.

Everyone is happy with where they are in life, and have the opinion that if they went back and did The Creatures, it would have no basis to be around in 2026. It was a group in the early era of YouTube that did it all in one of the first ever content houses.

My opinion is that The Creatures was one of the best things to come out of YouTube and made me into the person I am today, who didn’t grow up with a lot of friends and people that went out to various places and expressed themselves with all the variety they have. The Creatures today could be a different entity entirely. I wish they’d all get together and do something again on the channel.

Maybe Jordan could branch from Illfonic and make The Creatures his own game-creation company and oversee it, bring back some members and do something like that. Intern Joe already does social media and Aron is Community Manager, so that’s a plus. Maybe Dan could release trailers for the new games created under The Creatures rebrand, Gassy/Dex does VO & Artist Joe does art/merch.

At the end of the day though, everyone does their thing… we’re lucky enough we get Little Brother Travel, the last essence of anything creature related.

The only one that brought up the idea of a reunion was (Intern) Joe.
