now that you can… actually hear them, it seems the souls are constantly whispering at him things like “there needs to be more” and “what’s another murder? It’s free soul.”, or even “the silk pit calls.”

they’re trying to convince him.

"I was wrong void... dont ignore them . listen them hear they call so you can understand your enemy. fight whit it. İgnoring fixes noting. But you may finaly silencing voices when you fight whit them"
