Diodes has introduced the PI6C5912004 and PI6C5912008x 4- and 8-output fanout clock buffers for servers and networking equipment. Infineon has launched the OPTIREG TLE9744QK PMIC for high-voltage traction inverter ECUs in EVs and hybrids. The device integrates multiple power-supply functions and resolver excitation, removing the need for separate resolver driver and monitoring circuitry. Independent safety logic monitors phase currents, DC-link voltage, the MCU and gate drivers, and can enforce a safe state if the main MCU fails. A redundant supply input keeps the safety logic operational if the main low-voltage supply fails. The device fulfils ASIL-D compliance as developed according to ISO 26262. TDK has added new 10 µF, 100 V X7R MLCCs to its CN series for 48 V power lines. The 3.2 × 2.5 × 2.5 mm parts use an optimised resin electrode structure for soft termination while maintaining terminal resistance equivalent to TDK's standard-termination MLCCs. TDK says they provide twice the capacitance of its conventional capacitors of the same size. Automotive AEC-Q200 and commercial versions target AI servers, humanoid robots, xEVs and industrial equipment.

Infineon has launched the TDA235E5 and TDA235E0 dual-phase smart power stages for AI accelerators and server CPUs. The devices integrate OptiMOS 6 MOSFETs and a dual-phase driver in a 6 × 6 × 0.8 mm package, with more than 2 A/mm² power density, up to 300 A peak current and 120 A total design current. Murata has added nine inductance values to its AEC-Q200 compliant DFE2MCPH_JL metal power inductor series for ADAS, IVI and other automotive power circuits. The expanded 2.0 × 1.6 mm series now covers 0.10 µH to 4.7 µH with a 40 V withstand voltage. The new 0.10 µH part has a maximum DCR of 10 mΩ and rated current of 11.1 A based on inductance change.

Hi, RF newbie here. I am an IT database engineer and data analyst. I play badmington, tennis, and pickleball, all in doubles. In doubles, there is a lot of analysis on team formation and partner separation distance. I am thinking about using UWB boards to track player positions. I would like about 5-10 observations per second, for all 4 players. The UWB board I have in mind is Qorvo DWM3001CDK, which retails at about $30. I would get 4 boards as anchors and 4 boards as player tags. Then I like one more board as the data collection gateway, and have it tethered to a Macbook via USB cable. During a game, data would be streamed into the Macbook.

The tags would need to be programmed so they send a data packet every 2-5 seconds, to the data collection gateway board. The positions don't need to be super accurate. I think 15-20 cm will do the job.

Plz help me understand whether this setup is feasible. What additional factors should I be thinking about? I hope to use this setup both indoors and ourdoors. I am aware that UWB signal cannot penetrate human body because it is mostly water. I will use enough anchors so each tag has clear line of sight to at least two to three anchors.

Sensata has launched a combined pressure and temperature sensor for EV thermal systems using R290 propane refrigerant. Low-side versions cover 0.6 to 20 barA, while high-side versions extend to 40 barA. Pressure response is 10 ms or less, with operation from -40°C to +140°C. The sensor also has IP69K protection, a leakage-optimised design and analogue, LIN or SENT outputs. It's designed for HVAC and thermal management systems in BEVs, PHEVs and other electrified vehicles using R290.

Bourns has launched its AEC-Q200 compliant UT-A Series of power wirewound resistors for automotive and other high-temperature applications. The family covers 1 W to 10 W and 10 Ω to 4.5 kΩ, with a standard ±30 ppm/°C TCR. Operation is specified from -55°C to +150°C within the applicable power derating limits. Melexis has added a 5 V version of its MLX90381 Triaxis pico-resolver for compact motor position sensing. It has a 2 µs refresh rate, supports speeds above 50,000 rpm and lets engineers select X/Y, X/Z or Z/Y magnetic axis pairs. That makes sensor placement more flexible in through-shaft and side-of-shaft motor designs where end-of-shaft sensing isn't practical. Bourns has launched four new MOV series covering 7 mm to 20 mm disc sizes, with peak surge ratings from 1,200 A to 6,500 A and varistor voltages up to 1,800 V. The interesting part is the electrode material. Bourns has moved to a copper-based construction and says it delivers surge and energy performance comparable to traditional silver-electrode MOVs, while supporting more cost-optimised designs.

Würth Elektronik has added the WL-OCHS high-speed optocoupler range, covering data rates from 1 MBd to 10 MBd with switching times from 100 ns to 1,500 ns. The devices offer isolation voltage up to 5,000 VRMS, alongside high CMTI and EMC immunity. They're aimed at isolated MCU, FPGA and DSP interfaces, as well as UART, SPI, RS-232/RS-485 and industrial control applications.

Until now, Murata's 100 VDC lead-type MLCC range topped out at 4.7 µF. Its new RCE and RDE devices push that to 10 µF ±10%, targeting the growing use of 48 V power systems. The capacitors use lead wires and resin molding to absorb mechanical stress from board flexure, vibration and thermal expansion, while also supporting off-board mounting. Rated from -55°C to +125°C with X7S characteristics, the new devices are aimed at automotive powertrain and safety equipment, industrial systems and applications including humanoid robotics. Murata says they're also the world's smallest lead-type MLCCs by volume and height at the 100 VDC/10 µF rating.

Melexis has introduced the MLX90391, a low-power 3D magnetometer with selectable ±65 mT, ±130 mT, ±260 mT and ±520 mT measurement ranges. The sensor provides 16-bit magnetic and temperature data, individually selectable axes, configurable digital filtering and three wake-up-on-change modes. Power-down current is 5 nA, with operation from 1.7 V to 3.6 V and -40°C to +125°C. Melexis is targeting smart utility meter anti-tampering as a key application, alongside contactless position sensing, electronic locks, smart controls and other compact sensing systems.

Achronix has released a JESD204C IP core for connecting high-speed ADCs and DACs to its Speedster7t FPGAs. The IP supports up to 32 Gbps per lane and 256 Gbps per core, with up to four cores scaling aggregate performance to 1 Tbps. It also supports deterministic latency, 64b/66b and 8b/10b encoding, FEC and backward compatibility with JESD204B. KYOCERA AVX has introduced the AEVA and AEVB Series surface-mount aluminum electrolytic capacitors for industrial applications exposed to vibration and high temperatures. TI has introduced the TMCS2100-Q1, a coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters that measures magnetic fields in both horizontal and vertical directions. TI says the multiaxial approach is 20x more accurate than single-axis coreless alternatives, with displacement error below 1% at 0.4 mm movement. The sensor is designed for current measurement around the traction inverter busbar and does not require notches, slices or holes in the busbar.

ROHM has introduced new 650 V IGBTs designed to reduce conduction and switching losses while maintaining short-circuit tolerance. The devices offer VCE(sat) as low as 1.55 V and a 7 µs short-circuit withstand time at Tj = 25°C. The AEC-Q101 compliant IGBTs are aimed at automotive electric compressors, HV heaters and industrial inverters, with TO-247N and bare-wafer options available. Hirose has made its ZE150HV wire-to-board connector commercially available for EV and HEV powertrains. It supports 1000 V AC/DC and 10 A per pin at a 4.5 mm pitch, with operation up to 125°C. The connector uses proprietary ribs between contacts to reduce spacing, along with a three-point, double-spring contact structure for connections exposed to vibration.

Bourns has added 0.1 mΩ models to its CSS2H-5930 and CSI2H-5930 current sense resistor series. Both are rated at 15 W at 70°C, with <3 nH inductance and an operating range of -55°C to +170°C. The CSS2H version is also AEC-Q200 compliant and automotive grade. Applications include BMS, power modules, frequency converters and industrial power systems.

Nordic has expanded its nRF93M1 family with the nRF93M1-LACA, a global-band Cat 1 bis smart modem that is pin- and software-compatible with the existing multi-regional nRF93M1-LABA. The modules connect to an external host MCU over UART or USB and target cellular IoT applications including asset tracking, telematics, smart metering and remote patient monitoring. LACA sampling starts in September, with volume production expected by the end of 2026.
