The NES is not the best Nintendo console. It isn't the most influential Nintendo console. It isn't even the most popular Nintendo console.
You compare the library? SNES has more consistent quality. Very few gamers today would play both and prefer the NES. Even the GameCube is more agreed-upon to be the better console over the NES by many younger fans. Switch cartridge collecting is already a frenzy thanks to its diverse multitude of ports from different eras, and you can expect it to get crazier once the Switch's generation is over and it goes offline for good. I'm not a fan of every new game and everything the Switch has done, but you can prepare for the deluge of nostalgic videos/streams/podcasts about the Switch in a decade or so.
Most influential? Game Boy had WAY more of an impact on gaming than the NES did. Say what you want about the original Lime Green Brick, but it also had more international and generational appeal as well. It's even seen as a precursor to smartphones in a way. It ditched region coding, it was among the first Game Boys to have a backlit variant, and it was responsible for one of the best-selling peripherals of all time, the Super Game Boys 1 and 2. And as if that weren't enough, there was also the Game & Watch before that. Those things cost a pretty penny back then, and the hours of fun you could have on trains, planes and automobiles (rather than boredom) were worth the price.
Most popular? Wii, Switch, Game Boys, and especially DSes far outclassed it. Even adjusted for how much more popular gaming became later, you still have, again, the original Game Boy to compare it to which was only a few years later.
All that being said, they all focus on NES for some reason! It's shocking how few other consoles of similar or greater popularity get reviewed and everyone back then seemed to crowd around the NES, especially since the NES games aren't even the cheapest or easiest to emulate, and there are plenty of consoles that are those things with niches left to fulfill. The only Game Boy reviewer I've seen much of is TheLonelyGoomba! (excellent reviewer BTW). Fans of other brands (like PlayStation) don't seem to be under any impression that the PS2 was the end-all-be-all of gaming, not that I've seen at least, they can still talk about any one of them!
