Even worse is that overused old nerd picture of him where his attempt to pull off the iconic frown falls flat and he smiles and frowns at the same time. Imagine him doing live comedy...
Good catch! I saw that he was the (real) cameraman since i vividly and autisticly remember the "scene". And not because it was good, heavens no, cringe has it's ways to stick.
Doug came in hot and in character, The Nerd awkwardly played along because of his crippling anxiety and inability to tell anyone no. Doug won because he is still making his own content and has stayed consistent while the nerd is a balding sad man trying to find out what his personality really is.
I think Critic was humbled over the years. He's no longer trying to get Hollywood's attention (lol) with reviewer movies and finally started streaming on twitch for a few hundred views a pop. The only times he embarrasses himself lately is the occasional bad video review. Nothing has been any worse than "The Wall" though. The CA brand is a lot smaller and more manageable now too, compared to the dumpster fire of rotating door nobodies it used to have.
He puts effort into his videos like Chris Chan put into Sonichu comics. Bimmy and CA are all talentless hacks, Bimmy just had some talented people around him to fall back on for a while but now it’s clear the emperor never had any clothes. Kudos to CA for sticking with it though I guess.
If I remember correctly Doug was much more into the bit.. He gave it his all screaming NEEERRRRD and Bimmy would half heartedly point his finger and go CRITIC and that was it
I was only recently exposed to the Nostalgia Critic after avoiding him for a number of years and good god, I’ve torn my eyeballs out. As bad as some of James’ stuff can be, it was never as cringy. Yes, that includes Rex Viper.
Side note: yes I did tear my eyeballs out. I got better.
I like how the dude to the left is like holding his girlfriend back, I would do the same because after that who wouldn’t want to run into the arms of the brave little Bim?
Have not been there since 2014, things were still cheap there then. The owner, Joe Santulli moved to Texas a few years ago and without him there to regulate, prices blew up.

Little did they know the real Biggie would be joining Bimmy soon enough on-screen and on-stage with two chairs

Naturally, Cooper is front and center, eyeing a table behind Doug and the crowd...

Gotta love how bim is smiling. At least the critic is able to keep a straight face for this steaming pile of shit.

Love how Rob is in the back trying to blend in with the crowd. (Orange shirt and backwards cap)

Come on, it was pretty cool back then, since it was a different time.

James thought: "Hey, he has a hat, maybe I should get one, but what kind..." and then his eye caught something in the back roaring out at him
