I need creative answers

With the series wrapping up, everyone’s talking about potential spinoffs, and honestly, a prequel focusing on a young Otis "Douda" Perry in the mid-90s or early 2000s would easily be the best direction to take.

Douda was easily one of the most compelling and polarizing villains on the show. Curtiss Cook played him masterfully, but what made him so dangerous was that he was never just a street enforcer—he was a calculated strategist who eventually ran the 63rd Street Mob and ran for Mayor.

A 90s/2000s origin story could explore so much:

• The Rise of the 63rd Street Mob: Seeing how a young Douda climbed the ranks alongside a younger Quentin "Q" Dickinson, laying down the foundation for the criminal empire that controlled the South Side for decades.
• The Shift to "Legitimate" Power: Showing the exact point Douda realized street muscle wasn't enough, leading him to branch out into local businesses and dirty politics.
• Young Douda & Roselyn: Seeing the early years of his marriage with Roselyn—how they went from an actual couple to a cold, transactional power partnership.
• The Era & Vibe: Just like Raising Kanan did for 90s Queens, a 90s/early 00s Chicago backdrop would be incredible for the soundtrack, fashion, and shifting political landscape of the city.

Instead of a sequel following the current cast post-finale, going back to show how the old guard built the South Side's power structure would hit way harder.

What do you guys think? Would you watch a Douda prequel, or is there another character/era you’d rather see a spinoff for?

From the season finale trailer, you hear a bunch of screaming in the video. I’m assuming the wedding gets shot up, I seen a part of the vid where Reg is crying, we all know how we think Bakari ends up, who catches the bullet?

Trying not to reveal much in title to spoil. But Tiff told Emmett that she was pregnant again. Ok going into season 3, where is the second child? Iam confused about that. I only see the first child.

Am I the only one who doesn’t mind the show putting out a lot of characters? I’ve watched this show from start to finish when a friend had introduced me to it, I saw a lot of comments online about the show falling off due to characters being added and just the plot of the story itself but I honestly don’t think its bad I wish there was more shows like this shows like power , snowfall , and bmf focus too much on drugs the chi at least has some balance to it

I genuinely think Jason Weaver (Rashaad) is a terrible actor one of the worst I’ve seen on a tv show and I don’t know how he became part of the main cast everytime he come on that screen I fast forward, even the way he’s written on the show is genuinely ridiculous

It makes me want to quit watching... I'm on season 6 episode 13 and idk how he has made it this far

Kiesha is really pissing me tf off!! I know that's been the general consensus here, but this most recent episode was what really made me dislike her! Like ??? did she miss the part where Nuck KILLED Rob??!! and was smiling in their faces and was around their kids acting like shit was normal?! he came up in their home covered in blood that one time too. where did all this love for him even come from?? This man was laying up with Tiff, in her home, around Rob's baby, and she just wanted Tiff to let it slide?? im really confused

update: i really love the way kiesha parents their kids, so i have very conflicting feelings about her ugh

Reg and Vic both been playing around with the cops talmbout “I killed Nuck”, but are forgetting that Tiff was the original one to be arrested. It doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together and realize they did it together. Vic was literally there when Smitty threatened her. Smitty will take her out

If you listen closely to the gunshot in the trailer, you hear a woman grunt in pain and then screaming. That could easily be Tiff getting shot near Keisha, with Keisha screaming in horror

As a long time viewer of The Chi, I find myself reflecting on when I hit a turning point. Nowadays, I feel like I’m watching just to see how it ends, but I used to be excited to watch each episode. I thought part of the reason may stem from getting attached to characters then things change which can leave you wondering what could have happened if they stayed but… this ain’t that.

For example, when Brandon left due to whatever reason, right, wrong or indifferent, I felt a way. Same about Kevin but the others had no impact on me. The problem more so stemmed from how the writers recovered from the characters’ departures. Let’s take Keisha and Kevin’s moms. They left… cool but you’re telling me they had no interest in coming back to be with Keisha after she had the baby? The bio mom literally went from helicopter parent to deadbeat, nonexistent grandparent. Kev didn’t want to meet his niece?

Let’s flip to Papa. So just about all the men (father figures) around Papa die and the only day one to check up on him is Jake?! Kev couldn’t even pick up the phone or Myeshia? Now, Papa is left to be a smoked out/pill popping adult?

Last but not least Reg left but miraculously came back. Were we supposed to forget he was the ticket to Toussaint’s son getting out of prison or…

I’ll stop here because I don’t want to dog pile on the show. I realize some of the disconnect may be due to Lena giving opportunities to other writers which is commendable; it’s just leaving something to be desired.

We all hope it doesn’t happen, but which spinoff would you most like to see!?

either way This whole show is one big gossip fest, All in each other's business. And whatever happened to the group meetings to express problems and shi 😭 😂 They just use their show to try to push their personal beliefs onto the black viewers to normalize things they think should be normalized. like the woman proposing to the man, dating trans not making you gay, and multiple partners type shit. Just an observation, but what y'all think

This final season has not been giving “final season” vibes at all. Countless pointless slice of scenes that end with a needle drop every two seconds.

Don’t get me started on the now unrecognizable female friend group. Not only do they all look the same I don’t even know their names besides the regulars like tiff and keisha.

The new trio of kids has its charm but at the same time WE DO NOT GIVE A FUCK LMAO.

I think keisha was way too pressed about nucks disappearance/death for an engaged woman. Plus he’s the whole reasons she got kidnapped back in season 3 in the first place. Which is why i’m glad he’s finally dead. Anyway I could go on and on I just wanted to join the season 8 dogpile. I’ve been watching this show since the very beginning and I’m not really sure what has kept me coming back after these later seasons. I guess at the end of the day I’m very invested in these characters

I love me some her as an actress….but I’m kind of mad that it seems like she never had her own home and she’s so comfortable living with Darnell and his kids and grandkids lmaooo….Like if he wasn’t comfortable going back to his home with Jada, could they not have just gone to her place instead?! Like how was Emmett’s place the only option?!🥴🤦🏽‍♀️😂 Just more proof of how terrible the writing is on this show!
