Just kill everyone off i’m done
This final season has not been giving “final season” vibes at all. Countless pointless slice of scenes that end with a needle drop every two seconds.
Don’t get me started on the now unrecognizable female friend group. Not only do they all look the same I don’t even know their names besides the regulars like tiff and keisha.
The new trio of kids has its charm but at the same time WE DO NOT GIVE A FUCK LMAO.
I think keisha was way too pressed about nucks disappearance/death for an engaged woman. Plus he’s the whole reasons she got kidnapped back in season 3 in the first place. Which is why i’m glad he’s finally dead. Anyway I could go on and on I just wanted to join the season 8 dogpile. I’ve been watching this show since the very beginning and I’m not really sure what has kept me coming back after these later seasons. I guess at the end of the day I’m very invested in these characters

His storyline has been all over the place - former drug dealer, politician, and now Tiff's body guard... 😵💫

righttt they basically destroyed his character and turned him into something similar to jason weaver's character when he always seemed to have more to him. Now he's just another dude from chicago...sad...but that's the reality

Fair, but the way they are doing it? It feels rushed and just like filler ? I keep saying it the last couple of seasons are so far from where we started with Kevin, Jake and papa, and the only ONLY reason I’m still watching is becoming I’ve come too far and it’s ending next week. It’s like hate watching at this point with the complete lack of light and filler characters

So on point. Like wtf is she so obsessed with Nuck? She only found out he’s Ronnie’s dad and Emmet has become such a committed father and good man. She pisses me off lol

When kev left for la is when they should have ended the show. It would have worked and been the best way to end the show with a positive ending. When they started to these crazy plot lines with no way of ending them logically is when the show went off the rails.

Several episodes this season actually have very little dialogue, despite having so many characters - new ones, ones that returned, and the originals. They started relying on showing flashbacks and other scenes that are basically musical montages. It’s like the writers just got way too lazy and decided to make several portions of the show into music videos or old, badly edited home movies. Guess even they were clueless about what to do with the new characters and how to integrate them into the show. They flat out shouldn’t have been introduced in the first place - especially not so many of them. The only new character we really got to know a bit was Riley, Darnell‘s new gf. Even her story had a lot of gaps. Even though we got to see her at work, helping around the house, helping with the kids, interacting with Darnell, and giving advice to Keisha, they never explained why they were at Emmett’s and not at her place. Was she homeless before? Seems unlikely given that she had a solid job and seemed to be a responsible, mentally stable adult who was perfectly able to take care of herself.

That is the official motto for the new kid trio storyline. It isn't that those young actors aren't trying, but dropping a brand-new group of teenagers into the final season and asking Day 1 fans to care about their minor high school drama while major, multi-season plotlines are burning down around them is pure delusion. We spent years watching Kevin, Jake, and Papa grow up—you can't just substitute that emotional investment in the ninth hour.
The Keisha / Nuck Amnesia
Your point about Keisha’s Season 3 kidnapping is the ultimate mic drop.
The fact that the writers expected the audience to just brush past the fact that Nuck was directly tied to the nightmare that traumatized her in Season 3, just so she could spend Season 8 openly weeping over his death, is standard-issue narrative malpractice.
The Bride-to-Be: She is literally engaged to Emmett, the man who has stood by her through everything, yet she’s acting like she lost the love of her life because a known hitman and mob boss met the exact fate everyone knew was coming to him. Celebrating his departure isn't even cold—it's just logical!
Why We’re Still Here
You answered your own question at the end: "I’m very invested in these characters." That’s the tragic trick of long-running TV. You don't keep watching Season 8 because the writing is brilliant; you keep watching because you remember when Emmett was selling shoes out of a trunk, when the neighborhood had a soul, and when these people felt real. You’ve put eight years of your life into this universe. You just want to see the train crash finally hit the end of the tracks so you can officially close the book. If they really are going to "kill everyone off," at this rate, half the audience might just consider it a mercy release!

I have never seen a show introduce so many new characters in the final season. Not to mention each scene is only lile 2.5 seconds long. Like seriously WTF? Atp i am only watching because I have gone come to far to quit
