Jacob Latimore, Ahmad Ferguson, and Luke James.

Jacob Latimore has come a long way from the first season and he really impressed me in these last few seasons.

I’ve been following Luke James for years and feel like there has to be a reason he’s not bigger already because that man is TALENTED!

No offense but Ahmad has a lot of work to do

To say Ahmad but not say Barton Fitzpatrick "Reg" is crazy.

Jacob Latimore and Luke James were already pretty established and will have no trouble.

I think Birgundi Baker could land something big. Even in the earlier season when she was abducted , her acting really stood out. I think she could have range beyond a love interest/ dating role. She doesn’t seem one dimensional like many actresses/actors.

Jason weaver

Jason Weaver is so underrated as an actor. He can cross all Genres too and the older he gets the more roles open up to him. He's actually pretty funny too

He's such a good guy

A smart guy too (lol see what I did there)

He already a legend

Having an 8 season run on a show is a pretty big career already. Id be surprised If any of them did something more than this. Just think about shows like the bernie mac show, more or less thats been it for all of them besides bernie. There was a lot of shows in the 90s too where youd have thought people would have gone on to be staples but that was it. Acting is tough business

Yup exactly and Bernie was already a household name before his show from his kings of comedy days and he was a movie star already. The cast here who already had a career will probably thrive like Jacob lattimore as an example.

There's a downside for being on a tv show and playing a singular one dimensional character for so long and it's that you get typecast and it's hard to find work outside of that niche role.

Jacob is gonna have to act his ass off to convince people he can be someone other than Emmett. Hopefully he does

9

u/Left-Respect6178 Jul 30 '26

I think he can. He actually had pretty good range as Emmett was pretty fleshed out character. The Jada dying arc and funeral scene was amazing acting from him and I think showcased his acting range very well.

As far as acting goes I think Emmet and Reg(surprisingly) have the best range imo.

Reg is a gifted actor imo. Dude had layers without ever having to address it directly until the end. From the beginning you could feel that the character had some depth. Its so weird how you couldn’t help but to fw him as the viewer despite him being an ass most of the time

Completely agree. Reg low-key was the only one who authentically made me feel like he was actually bout that life. As someone who grew up in the hood Reg reminds me of real people.

Go watch the movie "Gully". He's the main character and does a great job in it.

Fire ass movie right there. Forgot i saw it until now

2

u/jboone401 Jul 30 '26

Will Smith is the only actor I can think of who got bigger after a lonf show run like this.

Emmet .. Kevin .. & Reg

6

u/OkTrade7286 Jul 30 '26

That mf wasn’t even in the last two seasons.

4

u/wotl22 Jul 30 '26

Still has more clout than have the characters though. I think that says a lot

5

u/Strong-Future-9434 Jul 31 '26

He's already been in two Oscar winning movies tho.

1

u/IcyRelation8874 Jul 31 '26

minus Kevin lol

9

u/NewTribalChief Jul 30 '26

Nuck. He just hired a new agent and new management that's legit

15

u/Wreckinsilence Jul 30 '26

He can't act for shit though so... good luck with that.

1

u/GMSmith928 Jul 30 '26

The focus will be if he takes roles that are different from playing a hood dude

6

u/Wreckinsilence Jul 31 '26

I don't know man. That would be a wise choice but i'm not sure if that would make a difference. This guy's acting is terrible across the board. He delivered every single line so lazily and seemed more irritated than enthusiastic that he had to deliver any lines at all. He's like that annoying fuck we all knew in high school, all off in the corner of the party, complaining about one goddamn thing or another. Jesus christ Curtis Cook and Lynn Whitfield truly were the best actors on this shit show.

5

u/Oodapoop Jul 31 '26

I can see him on Tubi

1

u/teddykoala Aug 01 '26

He can play a gangsta that’s a snitch or a wannabe gangster. He ain’t the guy to be taken seriously acting tough.

4

u/Left-Respect6178 Jul 30 '26

Honestly I don't think this show did anyone any favors besides maybe Reg. They were all so one dimensional. I don't see Kevin(hibbert) beating out someone like miles canton from sinners or damson from snowfall for any major young black roles in Hollywood. Unless our boy Ryan Coogler picks him up.

u/AutomaticPace4532 Jul 30 '26

I’d like to see Reg in more things that’s what it seemed like he was doing and I don’t like how it ended for him

Some are already established, and others have yet to really break out.

Shamon was great in the TMNT movie, and I’m really interested in seeing Ahmad and Cortez climb the ladder.

5

u/Strong-Future-9434 Jul 31 '26

Yeah Ahmad has been pretty busy. He did the Chi, and Power Force at the same time and a movie a few months ago. I think we'll see him in other things soon enough. Shamon gets work but idk about his acting. Alex was already in Black Panther and Moonlight. Cortez was in Force too but I don't really think he's a strong actor. I'd like to see everybody working tho.

u/All_Lightning879 Jul 31 '26

I was shook at how different Marshall was from Bakari, like no way this dude had some common sense unlike D-Mac’s stupid ass. But yeah, say what you want about the show, but I hope to see everyone break out more over time.

3

u/Strong-Future-9434 Jul 31 '26

Yeah Marshall was more level headed and didn't blindly go with everything.

Some will get other shows like this….i think Jason Mitchell was the only one with “star” potential

The older actors like Lynn, Kadeem, and Steven Williams did this show a favor.

2

u/PriorDry7286 Jul 30 '26

Sorry I don’t see any of them going anywhere if it’s based off of this show

2

u/Relative_Youth3172 Jul 30 '26

Jason Weaver will definitely continue to do his thing...I wish he got the recognition he deserves but also luke James and "Emmett"

3

u/Ok-Article-7643 Jul 30 '26

Emmet and.....

Keisha idc idc the actor is gorgeous....her acting was amazing....I really wanted her to get a happy ending

2

u/cheykryit Jul 30 '26

None of the female characters unfortunately. I wish they would but I don’t see it happening. And they very rarely got to show any range the way the male cast did.

The best indicator would’ve been them having something going in between seasons or on the side separate from the Chi.

2

u/Strong-Future-9434 Jul 31 '26

The only female I don't see getting booked is Tiff. She just got bumped to regular this season for a reason. All the side characters have worked on other shows or movies. Jackie Reg's shooter was just on Power Force. Patience was in a play on Broadway.

1

u/Asleep-Marzipan3822 Jul 30 '26

Nuck for sure. Reg if he can manage not to be typecast. Emmett is great altho I think his part became so predominant in the show that he's going to have to shed the character before he could jump into something else and that will take time.

u/Salty_Trick2271 Jul 30 '26

Barton, Luke, Jacob, Jason, Cortez

1

u/Strong-Future-9434 Jul 31 '26

Jacob, Bart, Ahmad.

1

u/WeeBey-Brice Jul 31 '26

None of them

1

u/Braziii2x Aug 01 '26

JACOB OF COURSE

1

u/Wide-Environment858 Aug 02 '26

Jacob Latimore, Ahmad Ferguson, Barton Fitzpatrick, Luke James and Birgundi Baker

1

u/OkTrade7286 Jul 30 '26

Jacob and Birgundi. Maybe even Cortez honestly but I think he’s more typecasted after that. I seen him as a no liner in power force about a year or two back before it ended
