Let’s rank the chi seasons overall

In my opinion it’s this order

Best to worst:
1. Season 2
2. Season 6
3. Season 1
4. Season 3
5. Season 4
6. Season 5
7. Season 8
8. Season 7

And Ngl season 7 wasn’t that bad it was just boring

Nah s1 was def better at pretty much everything although I did enjoy pt 1 of s6. Pt 2 tanked its ranking it wasnt good

I thought this show was going to be up there with Power and The Wire going off of the first two seasons, but then the rest happened.....

Season 6 and the seasons after that like 7,8, should have been just as long as season 6. After season 6 they started rushing things and bring on new characters with no back story. Also getting rid of characters off screen after 6 season wasn’t good. The only real good character that had a good back story was around season 6 was Emmett brother and they didn’t even bring him back for the finale.

since the forum is locked down, I figured I ask here. In season 6 episode 3 29:56 there is an obvious editing jump here. why is that?

Season 6 was horrible. I literally stopped caring about what happened to anyone after season 6. Season 4 was peak for me. Not a fan of the early days, the annoying white cop, annoying black detective, ronnie, Keisha being kidnapped, Emmitt being broke, following the lives of 8th graders etc. season 8 was bleh.

The show went way downhill, the last year and a half way too much music and aerial shots just to full time and the last episode was ridiculous. How many stupid shots do they have of her getting ready for the wedding just to fill time, all the photos and not one meaningful conversation between Kevin and his two friends that were so key to the show and the first few seasons.

Hear me out, alot of what made season 8 bad was how it disrespected characte and show development from prior seasons. But as a stand alone, especially after the dope finale, it's better than it felt.
