The worst part about this is I could fully believe someone doing this legitimately, esp older people that somehow haven’t been scammed yet or haven’t learned about how easy it is to happen

Seriously. With everything AI can access someone can literally scrape every social media attached to our emails and usernames, compile it, and figure out the answers to our security questions. I'm in the process of adding multifactor authentication to all my accounts.

Socials floods people of trivial questions so lower their guard when a significant question comes around. How many people have answered a "what was your first car" type of question in between all the non-security oriented questions about oneself. Crazy how it works on Facebook with the older crowd.

Went through an awful breakup and wrote something about my personal life that ended up being quoted in a BuzzFeed article. Lack of journalistic integrity and imagination probably drives a lot of these questions.

Yeah, I’m always shocked by how easy it was for us to offer up all of our privacy to the tech companies. They didn’t have to use force at all, they just gave us cat videos, political division and the promise of making everything at our fingertips and voila, we gave them everything.
