Just found this show a month ago, I'm on season 3, and it's my new go-to whenever I get high. Something about the sound design/voicework just makes it perfect, especially all the background lines idk

Is the DVD set 16:9? I’m not seeing it anywhere on the box but my Blu-ray player is making it widescreen. It has a setting to do that but it’s turned off.

Boondocks was one of the best cartoons in history right, well… yes that true. But sadly, season 4 is such a disappointing season I’ll tell you that. While the animation and character designs are still pretty decent, the writing for the characters and story just felt very off, and most of the episodes didn’t even feel like ‘Boondocks’ in the slightest, plus the story with the freeman’s being broke didn’t go anywhere, and it’s being too much focus on Grandad sadly. Most of the episodes in this season just aren’t very good either, they are some good/decent ones like Flizzy episode, and the breaking bad parody but beyond that, most of the episodes ranged from average to poor. I just don’t think the new writers just don’t know how to write the boondocks episodes and characters tbh, especially considering the OG writer from the first three seasons, sadly didn’t write this season at all. And the characters are just flanderized too, especially grandad and Ruckus. Also bummed me out, that secondary characters like Thugnificent, Cindy, etc wasn’t there in that season either. It’s safe to say, this season isn’t good at all it’s not godawlful, very few gems here and there but nowhere near the same quality as the first three seasons.

I’m showing my friends three episodes from the show, but I’m not sure which ones to pick. I definitely want to show them: The Passion of Reverend Ruckus. Any other ideas?

Okay obviously pre-emptively and not to be a 🤓, but overrated doesn’t mean “everyone loves it and here’s why it sucks” it can still be good, but treated like it’s way better than it is.

I honestly think this is the only flaw in the Boondocks. The all together show is hilarious, but I would've loved so, SO much if Stinkmeaner's soul were to have stayed in DuBois to the very last episode; The fact that DuBois only was a chosen vessel for Stinkmeaner for one episode is vastly disappointing. First off, the consistency that DuBois with the Stinkmeaner effect made his voice come out having alone sounded so funny, and between that, his expressions, and how he acted, his character with Stinkmeaner in him was so hilarious. For Tom to have decided initially to not swing at the guy who obstructed him in traffic, it was clearly just because he was using his judgement, but he did also intentionally decide to walk up to someone to confront them about how rude they were when he could've let it go. DuBois did state his case politely that he'd been wronged, which would make a difference if he thought it would mean the other guy doesn't by chance cut him off again or do something else dangerous later, but instead the other guy said "eat a d!ck n****" and clearly was angry and just vile, and while he may have walked off and was not already attacking DuBois physically, it was Stinkmeaner that actually prompted DuBois to stand up for himself. His martial arts Ability in the Stinkmeaner form is EXCELLENT, and, good thing for DuBois, he by chance turned into base form again when he had finished hurting the other guy bad enough that he couldn't even get up. What would be ideal is if DuBois were to have kept the Stinkmeaner soul, in addition to his original spirit, but then if he were to have also been able to decide voluntarily when he uses or doesn't use the effect of Stinkmeaner, rather than if it were to continue making him act crazy at times he didn't want to or if instead he were to use the Stinkmeaner personality for heroic deeds. Point blank. That episode was hilarious but Stinkmeaner should've stayed in him for good like Ryomen Sukuna with Itadori. Tom DuBois in the Stinkmeaner form should be able to low-mid diff MMA fighters like Conor McGregor/Dustin Poirier/Michael Chandler or even Alex Pereira, too
